hrmm
take a lemon , and see how the structure of the skin looks like.
thats what i meant . u will see the exact same thing, lemon peel happens in either the paint stage or the clear coat stage, if it happens on the clear coat stage then your lucky. you can ask them to SAND it off with sandpaper then repolish . but i think keep it first and do it next year since you just paid for it.

It's been a while since I visited this thread. Anyway... someone dinged the passenger side of my car with small dents while opening their door!!! Bastards!! To all you car drivers out there... please do pay attention when you open your car door. Sheesh.... Anyway, I can get it fixed but I'll leave it for now since it's very minor but looks like it's time to do some major car washing and polishing/waxing again. Share some pictures guys after you get your car that shine!! RedBox

QUOTE(d@id @ Oct 2 2004, 09:17 PM) of course another good brand is zainol . zainol has the best mist and wipe detailer . its better then meguiar's quik detailer but others are comparable and some not as good as meguiars. Did you mean Zymol? I'm using Zymol for my car, Subaru Legacy GT-B Touring Wagon. So far, I think they make the best car care products. ZYMOL

QUOTE(WMA @ Mar 17 2005, 01:19 AM) Did you mean Zymol? I'm using Zymol for my car, Subaru Legacy GT-B Touring Wagon. So far, I think they make the best car care products. ZYMOL i mean zainol sorry for the comment but zymol is nothing other then a useless brand. they originated from swissol. Swissol is a hand made wax. Its a family formula, one day the owner's son married his current wife, and his wife decided to make a mass production and marketing for swissol , too bad the formula cannot be mass produced and the wife don't know it when she and the husband migrated to usa and start this brand called zymol , the waxes produce all suffer from a "basi" problem. no doubt after basi its still having 80% of swissol's result , then someone from malaysia brought it in to sell , too bad, all become basi and he had got a few puluh ribu stucked in those products until one day , one fella came and look for him and wanted all the products @ a price, he told them they has some decoloration on it already but the guy say he don't midn , he is buying it to present it to someone, so the guy sold everything to the other guy. The guy who bought over all the wax is now the company known as Carnuba Autospa. Not long ago "last year if i am not mistaken", meguairs people challenged carnuba autospa"which only provide waxing job at that moment" to compare their products cause meguairs malaysia people wanted to push meguair polishing product to them , they choose a car bonnet and they start doing what they need too . supprisingly , the best zymol wax which cost a few thousand can only stay on par with meguair's 3 Step Polishing + No 16 Wax. Then they realise that meguair's part has no swirl mark while their do. that is why carnuba autospa is offering polishing with meguair 3 step now as well.

Theese are what i do to my car nowadays
i no longer fancy machine jobs unless the surface is real bad.
I prepare the surface with Klasse AIO Then i seal the surface with Klasse SG "10 layers over some time" Then i whack on Meguairs No 16 "but its carnuba so it tends to attract dust"
NEVERMIND
then i get Zainol Z6 "its a spray on detailer that has anti static characteristic, after applying layer to it , whola , like charm and less dust on the car, and everytime i wash my car i just apply another layer of z6.
"IF THE SURFACE IS BAD" 3m 1500 grit machine sand paper x 1 pack Bosch sanding machine
Okay i will sand the whole car
Then i will use the 3m rubbing compound to get back clear coat effect "but its still blur" Then i will use Meguair's Diamond Cut to prepare the surface Followed by Dual action and Swirl Free Polish.
I am still not good enough in the machining part, but i can get results on my own car though , so far still practising :>

labor cost in Overseas is much higher compared to our local malaysia. Doing the polishing/waxing yourself definitely saves lots of dough. However, the parts and accessories are cheap.
I used to do oil changed, tinting by myself in US. But in M'sia, couldn't care less haha.

QUOTE(tleilaxu @ Mar 30 2005, 07:37 AM) can someone teach me how to use meguairs clay bar effectively?any way to lubricate the clay besides quik detailer?thanks.. I almost bought that today! But went for another brand. Tleilaxu, you can use a mixture of car wash liquid and water as a lubricant as well if you do not want to use the quick detailer. I had used zaino's clay bar and also other brands. For me it's a waste to use the quick detailer as a lubricant. I am sure there will be people that will differ from my opinion but basically you want something that you can glide the clay bar over the paint without harming the paint. I am quoting what I wrote on the first post on claying. Hope it helps. Step 2: Clay After washing off all the dishwashing liquid, I start the claying process. You do not have to dry your car first. Prepare a spray bottle that contain water/car wash liquid to use as lubricant. Claying is easy but you have to be careful or you will end up scratching your paint. Why clay? The clay as your rub over the paint of your car will pick up any additional grime/dirt/tar/bird droppings/etc from the paint. Your local car parts store should have this. Here's how you do it. Spray an area with the water/car wash liquid mixture. Kneed a small piece of clay (that you can hold comfortably with your fingers and not drop it) and rub it over the sprayed area. For the top area of the car, use a front/back motion and for the side area of the car, use an up/down motion. Rub over the same area until you feel it going over the paint smoothly. Spray more lubricant if needed. Remember to kneed the clay after so many passes as you do not want the stuff that it picks up to scratch other paint area that you are claying. If you happen to drop it on the floor, THROW it AWAY. Do not try to use it again. It will now have dirt stuck to it from the floor and you will end up scratching your car. It's not worth trying to save a few bucks over your $$$ car. I went over every inch of the paint that I can get to with the clay. RedBox
