Wax Marks..

Hi guys,

I just spent quite a couple of hours washing my car clean and after leaving the car under the sun to dry, I applied a layer of wax using the provided sponge in circular motion throughout the body of my car. After that, I used a chamois and started wiping the wax (as per instructions on the wax's can)..

After completely wiped off the layer of wax, I noticed the wax marks that stays on the body of my car. No matter how hard i wipe/rub them also they won't come off..

is this normal??? will the layer of wax slowly blend in after a few washes?

any ideas? thanks.

Jackie Leong,

I think you should read the instructions to the wax/polish that you are using. Always follow instructions for best results. All products that I have used always advise users to wax/polish in a cool dry place.

RedBox,

I'm using the products from Waxco. Didn't really noticed the product having such instructions of where I should wax/polish my car. Anyhow, thanks for the advice. I'll be shopping for some new products to re-detail my car all over again.

Btw, any ideas how I can remove scratches from my paint? My pet dog jumped on my driver's side door and made scratches on my door.. It's kinda noticeable, well what do you expect from them German Shepherd sad.gif

Oh yeah, how much does a rotary buffer machine costs?

I use Meguiars ScratchX for minor scratches and it works pretty well. Not sure if it will work as well for deeper scratches. When I say minor, I mean very light and thin scratches. I imagine the scratches from your pet will not be too deep so try that and see.

If it is deeper, you may have to search for filler products that will require you to fill, sand and then polish it. This tend to be more elaborate than the regular scratch removal type cream. You can find a lot of information on how to do it on the Internet.

Not sure about the price of that in M'sia. Hopefully someone will be able to answer you. In my opinion, doing it by hand is still the best and you tend to waste a lot of wax/polish using a rotary buffing machine. smile.gif

I have a black car and I notice there are swirl marks on the hood. Can these be removed by waxing again? My car is only 3 weeks old sad.gif I am lazy to wax by hand. Is CGC in penang PISA any good?

Not really, sometimes those tiny lil dust/dirt that gets stuck in the cloth you use to clean your car and be the cause to those fine scratches.. although my car came with wax marks dry.gif

There is no way that you can eliminate the find scratches. Unless, you put ya car at home for showcase most of the time and don't wash often. Even though if u send to car care centre and ask for sanding service, after a few washes the scratches will appear back. So, getting a fine scratchless surface while you use your car often, park outside, wash often...then this scratchless dream is just another dream. Just my 20cent

You can minimize by being extremely careful. Use high quality cloth like microfiber for wiping on the paint. Use products that will reduce the swirls. The ones that I used as posted on the first post will reduce the swirls.

If you clay, always kneed the clay constantly to prevent builtup on one surface as you are cleaning. Never, never reuse a cloth/clay/wiping material that you drop on the floor. Just put it aside and use a new one.

But I agree, it is very hard to prevent. sad.gif
