Heard some rumors on THE DARK KNIGHT RISES that sound interesting...



Hey folks, Harry here with the latest bit of info I've gathered on THE DARK KNIGHT RISES...

How reliable is this? Well, we'll see, right. For now, take this as pure rumor, but don't be too surprised if I'm right.

I'll call my source on this, "Clayface" -

It seems that Chris & Jonathan Nolan and that David Goyer have been digging deep for the villain. In fact, Batman first went up against this guy in 1940 in the pages of Detective Comics. The word is, Tom Hardy is playing Dr. Hugo Strange, who has a bit of an obsession surrounding The Batman. Strange how common that seems to be in Gotham. In fact - it seems that Nolan and crew are exploiting that great PREY arc that was written by Doug Moench and illustrated by the great Paul Gulacy and Terry Austin - and ran from September of 1990 to February 1991.

I remember the storyline right after Clayface spilt the slightest details. This is actually, just about the most perfect storyline to start up, given where DARK KNIGHT left off. It involves a Taskforce out to get BATMAN headed by Gary Oldman's Gordon. I love the idea of Tom Hardy playing Hugo Strange, who plots to kill and takeover being The Batman, himself.

In the comics, the attack on Batman is multi-faceted and extremely psychological, as that is why Hugo has the Dr. in front of his name. It brings the Fear Gas back in a very effective manner. And well, seek out the issues if you want to ... oh, just read a great yarn.

I'm fairly positive that this team is putting their own particular spin on it - but how many of you want to see a crazy f***ing Tom Hardy dressing up like Batman? I know I do.

Why Those ‘Dark Knight Rises’ Rumors Could Be Wrong: Hugo Strange Confirmed for ‘Batman: Arkham City’



For the past few weeks, we’ve all been convinced rumors of Dr. Hugo Strange being the heavy in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises were true. It fit in with rumors that the Prey storyline was the main inspiration and seemed to click perfectly with the ending of The Dark Knight. Now, however, with the reveal of the first trailer for the upcoming video game sequel Batman: Arkham City, it seems we might have been chasing the wrong story.

Everything we assumed to be true for The Dark Knight Rises is, in fact, true about the video game. So that means there’s good news and bad news. The good news is if you were excited about seeing Dr. Hugo Strange’s story dramatized, you’re not only going to get to see it, you’ll get to play it. The bad news is everything we thought we knew about The Dark Knight Rises could potentially be false. Or is it possible this is all part of the plan? Read more and see the trailer after the break.

Holy crap that looks awesome. And almost exactly what we were expecting the plot of The Dark Knight Rises to be. Commissioner Gordon is hunting Batman while Dr. Strange mentally tortures him, digging out his deepest secrets, such as his true identity.

The plot to the first game, Batman: Arkham Asylum, did include several characters that appeared in The Dark Knight, such as the Joker and Two-Face. So just because Hugo Strange is in this game doesn’t necessarily mean he’s not in The Dark Knight Rises. In fact, it would kind of make sense to put him in a game. It’s sure to be popular and will be released well in advance of the movie. Since Strange is something of a secondary Batman villain, his inclusion in the game would be a good way to educate Batman fans all about the character before seeing him on the big screen.

May I ask Nolan to be more imaginative? Like having Bane or Killer Croc?

Warner Bros. revealed earlier in the week that The Dark Knight Rises would shoot on location in Los Angeles and the UK, with a third location not yet decided.
Fans of Christopher Nolan's Batman franchise have long hoped that the third location would be Chicago, which was utilized to great effect in The Dark Knight,
giving Gotham City a very distinct, dark, industrial, and textured look. But that doesn't seem to be the case, as a local Chicago report indicates The Dark Knight
Rises has chosen to shoot in Detroit instead.

All the Ladies Want to Date/Kill Bruce Wayne in The Dark Knight Rises



One thing seems certain now: Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight Rises”, his third and (most likely) final Batman movie, will feature two notable ladies in Bruce Wayne’s life, one of whom will be Talia, the daughter of Ra’s Al Ghul, the villain of the first film played by Liam Neeson. It would make perfect sense to bring the franchise back all around to the first movie if this is truly Nolan’s last Batman film.

According to Heat Vision, Nolan and company are currently looking for actresses to fill two slots — Talia (animated, below), and another female character. The ladies who will be playing them may end up being one of these five lasses: Keira Knightley, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Biel, Kate Mara and Charlotte Riley, all of whom are scheduled to test for the roles. Hollywood’s current go-to British gal Gemma Arterton is also said to be in the running, though how seriously she’s being considered isn’t clear, since she seems to have plenty going on, including the co-lead in Tommy Wirkola’s “Hansel and Gretel” re-imagining alongside Jeremy Renner.

Heat Vision also discounts a previous report that Eva Green and Naomi Watts have been cast in the film.

Whoever ends up with whatever role, “The Dark Knight Rises” is looking at a May start date, with shooting in London and Los Angeles.
