Dark Knight is probably the first of its kind. Nolan show that superhero movie don't have to be purely action or superpower. Dark Knight has so much character in it. As much as i like to see more Nolan' Batman, i also hope i will not be disappointed. Its a case of i love Dark Knight so much that i don't want it ended up like Superman Return. I'll understand if Nolan refuse the sequel if he cannot equal or better Dark Knight. i prefer to enjoy Dark Knight over and over again rather than having bitter after taste.
Let's hope Chris Nolan starts filming after he's done with "Inception". I predict a 2012 release of the third Batman.
Sam Worthington indeed has shot to universal fame... imagine him as Batman... hmm...
i am not convinced with sam worthington's acting, Bale is a much more talented actor and well suited for playing a complex character.

the lesson from spiderman franchise should be warning, everyone was suprise with spiderman 1, then spiderman 2 push the franchise to unprecedented high, then duing spiderman 3, the emo peter parker dancing in the street make fan boys feel like throwing up blood .

sam worthington should not replace bale. bale's acting and rendition of batman has become the 'de facto' batman. almost like christopher reeves owns the superman image.
but maybe sam can be a villain? maybe hush. in any case he should definitely do a proper batman 3. take his time and do it well. for us viewers its simple, if its no good we dont watch. its the studios that have to bankroll massively in blockbuster movies
Christopher’s brother Jonathan Nolan is currently writing the script, and few other details are being allowed out. Christopher Nolan says the villain won’t be Mr. Freeze, insists that the primary character ensemble from the previous two films will return, and that it will end their story. He explains,
The key thing that makes the third film an great possibility for us is that we want to finish our story. And in viewing it as the finishing of a story rather than infinitely blowing up the balloon and expanding the story…I’m very excited about the end of the film, the conclusion, and what we’ve done with the characters. My brother has come up with some pretty exciting stuff. Unlike the comics, these thing don’t go on forever in film and viewing it as a story with an end is useful. Viewing it as an ending, that sets you very much on the right track about the appropriate conclusion and the essence of what tale we’re telling.

Wow, sounds like a possible "come-back" for the 3rd installment of the movie. Let's keep our finger's cross and hope for another success in this movie. At least they are breaking up some time in order to script out a proper script instead of rushing through it without proper ending.

Kevin Conroy Calls Out Christian Bale’s Batman Voice Kevin Conroy, the voice of Batman for nearly two decades, thinks somebody should have told Christian Bale just how bad his Batman voice was during Batman Begins and The Dark Knight.
Batman has always been known for his duality, but this is ridiculous. Kevin Conroy’s panel at C2E2 on Friday gave us an interesting look into his world as the voice of animated Batman. While he mentioned the progress of the video game Batman: Arkham Asylum 2, the real treat was his words of disappointment with Christian Bale’s infamous Batman voice.
A civil war has brewed amongst fans on whether Bale’s husky voice work is good or bad since he first appeared as the Caped Crusader in Batman Begins. Now, we get a professional opinion. It’s tough to find more expertise than the most recognizable voice of the Dark Knight, Kevin Conroy. You may expect him to be coy with answers and simply praise Bale, but the man spoke his version of the truth.
When asked if Warner Bros. has ever requested he dub of The Dark Knight, the entire room laughed with Conroy before he gave an answer. Even better, he starts it off with his version of the awesome movie line, “I’m not wearing hockey pads.” See it for yourself with our video from the event. (Apologies for the audio mix-up near the beginning)
The passion with which people hate Christian Bale’s voice work is amusing, if not overwhelming. It is important to take a look at the character objectively and figure out why such an esteemed actor would choose to take it to such extremes.
Bruce Wayne’s goal to instill fear in his enemies is more than a cape and mask. It’s also more than “an idea.” The voice is an extension of his intimidation. While a line of dialogue here and there can become awkwardly forced with his raspy voice, it is part of the persona of Batman. If anything, it makes Wayne more human. But I understand many will not side with that sentiment, and their argument is sound with years of proof from Kevin Conroy that it can be done.
Video of the rest of Kevin Conroy’s discussion, will be up by the end of the weekend. It’s a great 25-minute up close look at the “classic Batman” with stories on how he got started with the character and its evolution throughout the years.
In addition to giving his fellow Batman a hard time, Conroy mentioned he had finished primary recording for Arkham Asylum 2 and expects the game to be finished by the end of the year. Based on a report from our own Game Rant, that seems a dubious claim.
If you are a fan of the animated Batman series, specifically with Mark Hamill as the Joker, Conroy shared some awe for the colleague’s performances. Stories of intensity and camaraderie between the two were intriguing and gave us an idea just why the characters are so powerful.
Voice your opinion on the Christian Bale voice debate below and let us know if you side with Conroy or Bale in the comments section below.
Extra Tidbit: I say just put Conroy in the suit in the next film and let Bale shoot all the Bruce Wayne scenes.

Might We See Batman 3D? Cinematographer on Nolan's plans for the threequel.
US, April 20, 2010 - Director Christopher Nolan and his director of photography Wally Pfister are mulling shooting all of Batman 3 in either 3D or IMAX.
Cinematical's Todd Gilchrist (yes, folks, former IGN-er Todd Gilchrist) chatted with Pfister last week at a Dallas Film Society awards ceremony, during which time the Oscar-nominated cinematographer talked up the visual game plan for the highly anticipated sequel to The Dark Knight.
"What Chris and I have talked about is doing something cool and something interesting," Pfister told the site. "[Director] Brad Bird was [saying] 'you've got to shoot the whole thing in IMAX!' I was like, yeah, I've talked to Chris about that." Pfister believes, though, that the camera technology required to shoot an entire movie in IMAX may be too difficult to pull off.
Pfister also said the idea of shooting Batman 3 in the suddenly popular 3D format is under consideration. "I think Chris is game for doing something interesting like that, Lord knows that the 3-D fad might pass by the time that summer comes around," said Pfister. He added that one thing that is certain about Batman 3 is that it will be shot on film and not video.

Thank God: Dark Knight cinematographer says he and Nolan don't want Batman in 3D
Because of his and Nolan's feelings toward Digital Cinema, Pfister does not want to shoot in 3D. He actually had some pretty harsh things to say about the format, he says that "it's great for like amusement park rides like the 'Honey I Shrunk The Kids' ride at Disneyland." He said that 3D is not realistic and "it's a distraction. Can you imagine Memento in 3D? With Joey Pantoliano's glasses sticking out 'a few feet' with his hair all the way back there?"
Extra Tidbit: A screen that is 20% bigger than average is NOT IMAX.
IMAX Corporation and Warner Bros. Pictures, a unit of Time Warner Inc., announced today that they have completed an agreement to release up to 20 Warner Bros. films in IMAX’s format over the course of the next three and a half years (from 2010 through 2013). The agreement strategically aligns Warner Bros.’ tent-pole business with the increasing worldwide popularity of The IMAX Experience® in both 2D and IMAX® 3D, providing the studio with an added distribution platform that consistently delivers strong box office returns. The agreement underscores the excitement around the studio’s future films which are anticipated to be among the best Hollywood event titles slated for release in the coming years.
Under the agreement, Warner Bros. movies that will be released in IMAX are: Legends of the Guardian: The Owls of Ga’Hoole 3D (September 24, 2010); Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 (3D) (November 19, 2010); Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II (3D) (July 15, 2011); Happy Feet 2 (3D) (November 18, 2011); and The Hobbit (December 2013). Warner Bros. and IMAX also plan to release an additional 15 films over the course of 2011, 2012 and 2013, including Gravity, Dark Shadows, Fury Road, Batman 3, and Superman.
i heard some rumours back then that the joker was planned to feature in the 3rd film TDK was actually a starting point for The Joker character 3rd film supposedly to show him in control or power in the city
