i also thought they originally casted 2 women for main plots, which i assume the other was talia al ghul

it is Bane, the shadow figure and wat not, the only villain revealed thus far in the flesh is Bane
anyway theory could be Gordon may have stumbled upon Bane, hence how he ended up in hospital, claiming how a new evil is rising

batman does not retreat, he only makes tactical moves
