before heaths death, nolan said the movie was about harvey norman / two face... so its possible the 3rd movie could have been about the jokers further ascension... maybe changed the editing a bit to make the joker the main villain after heaths death... or maybe not..
his acting was superb and the movie came out brilliant. even without heaths death, no more joker or less in the 3rd... wouldnt want to sit in a batman marathon of batman begin, dark knightm and 3rd movie when the joker is already in almost 3 hours of the movie... a new character please..... |

QUOTE Batman 3 Official Release Date: July 20, 2012 Since The Dark Knight began principal photography in April 2007 for a July 2008 release, we must assume that Batman 3 would need to go into production before April 2011. But with only seven months away, does that mean they have a first draft screenplay in hand? Of course, the release date could always change, but it seems like Warner Bros and Nolan would like to recreate the success of the last film. The Dark Knight was released on July 18th 2008, so this is the exact same weekend. Batman Begins was released in June 15, 2005 |

Harvey Norman = electrical goods retail store boss Joker's story ended perfefctly in TDK. It's better to have a new villain in the next Batman regardless of whether Heath Ledger is still alive or not. Too much of a good thing will probably mess up the good work. Not every Batman villain is suitable for Nolan's style of writing and filming. Nolan's characters are mostly mysterious, cunning, and yet creepily charismatic; hence villains like Bane, Man Bat, Clayface would probably not fit. Catwoman would be an interesting choice although Tim Burton characterised that role to near perfection in Batman Returns. Rumours are saying The Riddler but that would require very good writing and acting to differentiate it from Ledger's Joker. This post has been edited by StarGhazzer: May 2 2010, 10:58 AM |

i believe scarecrow will always be around, lurking in the background.
anyways, about the villains, nolan always had a way to update the characters into his vision. for example, ra's al ghul was supposed to be this immortal character born 600 years ago. it'll be bizarre to incorporate an immortal character in nolan's world. but he updated it by turning ra's al ghul as more of a concept, an ideal, which bruce wayne eventually adopted and gave birth to the "immortal" batman. we can only imagine what he can do to the rest of the villains |

QUOTE BATMAN 3: The Joker will NOT feature says Chris Nolan ![]() I’ve just got my hands on that Chris Nolan centric Empire Magazine (which we’ve now managed to plug three times in a few hours!!) and boy is there a big piece of blockbuster news scoop-age in there that has been missed by many. When asked on whether Nolan would re-cast The Joker for Batman 3, he ‘emphatically and without hesitation’ answers “NO!”. So that’s it, all the two year speculation on the ethics behind a potential re-casting of the late Heath Ledger in his Oscar winning, iconic role can be put to bed. THE JOKER WON’T APPEAR IN BATMAN 3. Presumably we have to imagine him for the time being as a mental patient locked up in Arkham Asylum. Transcript is after the jump; From the latest issue of Empire magazine; There is the ever-lurking question about villains: who will The Dark Knight tussle with this time… Could it possibly be a returning (and recast) Joker, pulling strings from Arkham, Lecter-style, Empire wonders? “No”, says Nolan emphatically and unhesitatingly. He resists elaborating simply because, quite understandably, he says, “I just don’t feel comfortable talking about it”. |

It's good to see that Joker will not appear in the 3rd movie,as no one can act as well as Ledger as Joker.
TDK's Joker is a memorable villain that should be just left alone after Ledger's death,as it is Ledger's legacy. Recasting anyone for Joker will just ruin the awesome Joker in TDK. Thats why i love Chris Nolan. He knows how to make a damn good movie. Nolan, please direct the Mass Effect movie, pleaseeeeeeeeee..... I want to see your dark and realistic version of Mass Effect. |

a batman trilogy movie that will be done in the very right way with satisfactory & no futher questions asked. ill forever & always will missed nolan's batman movies after his done completing the batman movies & never will i forget the 1989 batman movie. always 1st in my list after the dark knight. last but not least, ill leave it to the joker as he have his last laugh at both the Joel Schumacher batman movies |

Still have to wait for 2 more years for the next Batman movie.
Although Christopher Nolan said that the next movie by complete his Batman series, but I'm sure the studio will continue to produce a sequel with different director as long as the franchise is profitable. |

but how are they gonna top Dark knight? Dun talk about joker yet....I have yet to think any other enemy that can match Ledger's Joker? What more overthrown Joker in 3rd movie?
Movie title? Dark Knight Forever? I dun think anyone in the cast would like to return for a 4th movie even though Warnerbrothers insist for a 4th installment. I heard Bale say before in a interview, if nolan aint in it, he wont be in it. And i dun think WarnerBrothers is stupid enough to turn Nolan's trilogy into a disaster after what legend Nolan has brought for Batman. If they are smart, they offer him to make other movies. |
