Is Renaissance hotel walking distance to Mdm. King's popiah place? I've check from the map, it looks near.. but not so sure.. anyone care to share? smile.gif

Yes..within walking distance nia..but hor dun expect a lot on Melaka Popiah too.. Real popiah only in Taiping..

Famous food must be in the maps although the quality nothing close to KL/Penang wan.. biggrin.gif

not that far, less than 10 mins walking can reach there, just cross a traffic light only.

the popiah quite famous but i never tried la coz everytime passby got ppl waiting, i dun like to queue one, if got ppl waiting then i prefer to eat something else, feel like stupid paying money to queue blink.gif

Other than Mdm. King's popiah.. what other foods are highly recommended there (near renaissance hotel), i mean walking distance without needing to drive? Thanks again.. rclxms.gif

Atthe back of Ramada ,,ehhh renaissance, There is one chinese temple...Inside the temple compound, at nite there is one sai chow...Long time din try dy..dunno nice or not, u can try there..

88 should be there for famous' sake. The chendol was nothing spectacular, too sweet IMO. Few years ago it was still good.

Anyway, I thought GPS is for locating places and such, even if the food is not great, isn't removing it going to cause problems to the users? Some people might find it tasty and worth going.

I just came back from the Portugese Settlement in Melaka. Went to Seafood Terrace too, restaurant no.1

I must say the food was average at best, the ikan bakar was very disappointing.

operated in food court de..
go to bukit baru sin hoe garden food court there
cheaper and nicer compare to portugese.

Tourist dun wan chinese/malay/Indian wan.too common liao...they wan something unique..so portugis is the answer..

ya, the shop beside the temple one quite nice, but quite expensive as well. we normally sit in the temple compound if visit this shop but few years didnt go liao, dunno the latest status..

u r right, few years ago thier cendol is nice but now no quality liao but still lot ppl said its nice. I prefer the cendol opposite clock tower, that indian cendol taste better & much cheaper but no parking to stop & order, oso long time didnt try liao drool.gif

if u just tried recently, then u missed the old time's ABC & cendol there coz lagi sedap, now quality drops, very common coz the shop famous lioa, singapore tourists oso look for this shop when come to melaka.

actually "portugese", "nyoya" etc is just a name, i dun feel they are special especially nyonya food, only tourist love it, but malaccan seldom visit these nyonya restaurant coz many malaccan mom can cook as nice as the restaurant tongue.gif maybe I have many baba nyonya frenz & use to eat their cooking food, so dun think nyonya food is special lo tongue.gif

I am planning to bring my family members for a visit to Malacca.. for 3 days 2 nite during the school holidays..

if u just tried recently, then u missed the old time's ABC & cendol there coz lagi sedap, now quality drops, very common coz the shop famous lioa, singapore tourists oso look for this shop when come to melaka.

opposite clock tower there better ka... also very crowding la.
jonker88 qualiti is drop from last time, but that is the same case for many good foods.
but still the gula melaka is very tastyness
