I see mostly hardware side are not much different. I think the important is the software and the firmware side. That make the NAS interesting to use.
Synology keep improving the firmware and listen to customer suggest. Every few mth come out a new firmware for upgrade. The good is, even old model still can be upgrade with the latest firmware. |

I only able to play .wmv or .mp4 movie files, but not .avi. |

As long as the programmer listen to what people like us need, he is a good programmer.
 My next synology NAS project is to upgrade the HDD and add in a UPS. Few time trip during lightning. Lucky no problem with HDD.  Not going to take the risk further. Order an APC UPS which can communicate with the NAS.Upgrade the current 1pcs HDD 750gb to 4pcs samsung HDD 2TB and raid it.  All parts arrived. But no time do.  My NAS ram upgrade currently postpone. Can't find the ram locally. |
