QUOTE(Curs3dZed @ Mar 16 2015, 10:35 AM) I think what you mean is the outdoor water filter that can be backwashed instead of require the help of technician to maintain. This type of filter is more expensive but more convenient, do backwash yourself once-a-while, instead of need to do appointment with technician to maintain etc.. Some more, some technician might charge you everytime, might result in similar or even more total expenditure. p/s Amway sell outdoor water filter too (1 model only), but it's quite $$ which people don't usually use it if they already have indoor filter like eSpring, but good for prolong the lifetime of indoor water filter cartridge if the water of pipe really contain many large particles Backwashing type, Sand Filtration are easy to maintain save some labor fees. Only require to change Sand media per 5years (rougly). But is the cons is kinda bulky and sometime might accidentaly those sand push into our inside along with those water, if already got indoor filter, pretty not much to worry. Meanwhile, 3M outdoor are also easy to maintain, just order online or nearby authorized 3M seller store, and replace ourself. But is based on how much of water have been filtered only change. Semi membrane type. Price wise...

Aquasana seems positive on the NSF report. Not sure how does it compare to 3M and eSpring when come to initial pricing and long term maintenance.

QUOTE(Curs3dZed @ Mar 16 2015, 09:44 PM) Actually I have the price list LOL I can send to you. But it's competitor from my standpoint, and I'm not familiar with the models la. Some more I'm kind of anti-RO water person You shouldn't. Kidney problem people only can take pure water like RO/Distilled. I think you should aware of this. QUOTE(saw2001 @ Mar 16 2015, 10:06 PM) is it sufficient to just have one of the 3m filter? By the way anyone manage to successfully DIY IT? Point of Use is priority need. Get that one first.

QUOTE(aewer @ Mar 18 2015, 12:27 PM) how about Tk-as40. due to the burget. Holy Jesus. RRP 1,999, Lelong Price RM 1,699. Why not just get the 3M DWS1000 (indoor) or 3M AP902 (outdoor) + 3M Easy Complete (indoor) Combo sets. All above I recommend are NSF certified and also within your budget.

QUOTE(smwah @ Mar 20 2015, 11:49 AM) Got my AP902, but have not done the installation. Doing it DIY, do you guys do by pass ? She did it few years ago. Refer posts below. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « QUOTE(weikee @ Nov 18 2012, 11:36 PM) Few weeks ago, I change all the PVC ball valves to conventional Brass. The PVC ball valves will leak after sometime exposed to sun light. Mine was leaking very badly after close to 1 year of usages. It come from the free installation. When you get free installation, ask the plumber to use brass, pay him some $$$ to change maybe RM 100+-. Brass / stainless steal is much reliable and more expensive. One brass valve / tap is about RM 25- 30. Need 3. The PVC ball valve only RM 5 - 7, and h/w shop owner told me pvc ball valve is not design for high pressure + sun exposure. Original: Now: Added on November 18, 2012, 11:36 pmAll done by myself.

QUOTE(asunakirito @ Mar 21 2015, 11:57 AM) Do you have any recommended choices (water filter models)? Is the matter of your user preferences. I written this long time ago this thread. QUOTE Sand Filter type (OEM) - 5-10 microns - Heavy & big vessel BUT make sure get the FRP (Fibre Reinforced Polymer) type because is much more durable - Backwash function makes it more low maintaining cost BUT you still need to change the Filter Media roughly around 5years time - Filter media are from natural resources so is easily to be available all time so you don't need to worry 10years later spareparts no longer available.
3M AP902 - Not sand or membrane. Using non-woven pleated media. The size is very compact (smaller than membrane). Better filtration compared to sand but not as good as membrane. Could withstand upto 8 bar of pressure and would not significantly reduce your incoming water pressure. However, maintenance cost is more expensive than sand but close to membrane. QUOTE(james3g @ Mar 21 2015, 03:07 PM) Whats the advantage for the bypass? When your filter time up for changing filter or filter messed up for whatever reason, you still can use bypass method so that your water can go through without going into the filter.

QUOTE(triniebct @ Mar 23 2015, 12:54 AM) Is there any ways Espring not fix on water taps? Any other recommended water filter that doesnt require to fix on water taps? Buy their dedicated faucet, unless you have your own fancy type of faucet, that require some converter.

QUOTE(mghong @ Mar 24 2015, 10:24 PM) any espring user know how much is the maintenance cost for the filter ? Is not cheap among others brand but I would said is reasonable price because it does come with Prefilter, Carbon Block, and as well inside the UV bulb light. It also have hidden warranty for one to one exchange based on my experience if your filter sensors chips get fried. lol
