Visited zheilwane store and purchased 3M AP easy complete, looking forward for installation next week =)

Agreed that culligan filter is slightly cheaper, but having say that, I will still purchase 3M AP easy complete from zheilwane considering the professional feedback given.

Partially agree with you but as for troublesome replacement and no after sales support, I have ways to overcome it.

One can get the service of Malaysian student/immigrant who offers USA shopping/shipping services here:
https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?act=Sear...hlite=USA+spree

At US37 per replacement cartridge, one can buy 4 cartridges (2years supply) in one shipment to save shipping cost. Can refer to USPS rate table here:
http://ircalc.usps.com/Mobile/Default.aspx
BTW I will be ordering my replacement cartridge soon, anyone wish to share shipping cost can pm me.

As for the after sales support, these two models are specially designed for DIY home users as it's name suggests...3M AP easy complete and Culligan IC-EZ-4. Replacement of cartridge is indeed as easy as just twise and turn and no tools needed. There for chances of calling for local support is near zero.

Oh yes, Culligan replacement cartridge (US37) is very much cheaper than 3M AP Easy Complete (US67) replacement cartridge. Both also NSF 42 and 53 certified.
*
Well sometimes things could happen, like sometimes u need the replacement urgently and u forgot to preorder it, u need to ask questions or spare parts but no1 there to help u. Everyday i have many ppl PM me asking lots of questions regarding 3M water filters and also ppl asking for installation tips as some of their plumbers do not know how to install, filter gets clogged after few months, how to overcome it and etc. So, i m here to help my customers but if u get the malaysian student/immigrant will they help? Anyway, replacement cost and selling price for AP Easy complete is quite cheap, we are selling the replacement lower than US 67, the price of the product depends on where u purchase them, not all dealers selling at the same price.

However, i do agree that the initial cost of US 57 is very cheap bcoz u do not have to pay tax and shipment fee.

yup nightfelix, thanks for defending smile.gif i never say it is no good...it has NSF jus like 3M, how to say it is no good. Just explaining, if i were to be the local distributor of the product, with the cost they offer me, my selling price would b much higher than what aeiou228 bought (comparable to 3M pricing). Moreover the filter tap is not provided, as most ppl prefer to hide the filter under their kitchen sink, they have to buy the seperate filter tap and installation fittings seperately, a good one could cost RM 100-200.

True i do have a shop and i sell water filters, bathroom and kitchen stuff online but i read reviews and do my own research to select my products, that is how i get to know 3M previously (from customer reviews online), i spoke to their sales representative checked on the reasonable selling price and now i m selling 3M.

Anybody is using this Water Filter (DWS 2500T-CN) from 3M?

Is electrical power required for this filter to work?
DWS 2500T-CN

thanks
*
Nope, it runs on battery. I do sell 3M as well but if you are looking for something more value for money, i would recommend Aquaphor Crystal Eco instead, currently it is RM 1350 about RM 1000 cheaper than 3M DWS 2500T-CN. Here is a brief comparison. FOr more info, like us in facebook for online catalog or drop by our showroom for latest promo

Users using 3M AP Easy Complete, can anyone feedback how long does the cartridge last? The shop told me last only 4 - 6 months?.
*
Generally is 1 year but it also depends on your water quality as well. Many customer thought DWS1000 and AP Easy complete both have NSF 42 and 53, AP easy is much cheaper with higher capacity, then they jus buy it. Definitely they are not the same smile.gif If you would like to know more just drop by our showroom but unfortunately currently most 3M filters do not have stock due to huge demand before GST.

FYI, some of my customers experience clogging issue after 6 months for AP Easy complete

Notice, that many forumers are looking for Good Water filter but at a reasonable price, introducing a new filter AQUAPHOR from Europe.

Like what NightFelix said is true, not all carbons are the same. Most good brands will give carbon block while Aquaphor is also using carbon block but a special patented one call CarbFiber Block with Aqualen (Aquaphor's patented technology) and also with silver in it. Want to know more? Just read through the links below.

Currently we are having promo and the price is definitely very attractive smile.gif We do have an actual unit (Crystal Eco) installed in our shop and we have been drinking it for about 2 months direct from the tap. Do drop by our showroom to taste the difference smile.gif For those who came to my shop and tasted it before, the STOCK has finally ARRIVED, good time to get it now.

There is a saying, water too clean is no good but that is referring to RO system as it is called "Dead Water" filter off everything including the good minerals in the water.

Aquaphor Crystal Solo and Aquaphor Crystal Eco on the other hand does not filter off minerals.

The "good" carbon blocks are effective at removing dissolved impurities due to their high density, which is achieved by using smaller size carbon granules. Unfortunately, these blocks very quickly become clogged with insoluble particles present in water - the loss of function can easily reach 50%. Their use in areas where the water carries a lot of sediment is costly and inconvenient

The "not so good" blocks usually have a long service life and stand up to long-term use with water that carries a lot of mechanical impurities - the aforementioned sediment. Unfortunately, their long life is due to a tradeoff: large spaces between larger carbon granules. These blocks provide a much lower quality of filtration than the "good" kind.

That is why Aquaphor came out with Aqualen to solve this problem.
AQUALEN is hydrophilic - unlike carbon, it is highly absorbent and can act as a distributing agent for the flow of water. This is particularly useful given the dense structure of the carbon block, and eliminates "dead zones" in the filter that wouldn't otherwise be recruited in the filtration process.

AQUALEN allows for significantly improved mechanical filtration of sedimentary impurities. AQUALEN's fibers loosen the structure of the carbon fill, allowing mechanical filtration throughout the entire volume of the filter.

You can read of as per my catalog or watch this video for better understanding

WATERCO is a good brand but some customers told me the backwash valve is hard to turn and easy to crack but some customers say they do not have this problem. You can check this with your friends or relatives using Waterco for feedback. I am selling Perfect Steel Sand Filter (Fibre body like waterco) @ RM 700 with installation within Klang Valley, never ever customers complain on the valve.

*
It depends how far you going to relocate to, pipes used (PVC or Stainless Steel), got hacking or not and etc. Standard brand new installation is around RM 200 but if relocate far, requires a lot hacking and using stainless steel pipes then may be it cost u RM 400

Googled.. first hit..

Aquaphor - Water Filters. | Drinking water filtration systems ...
aquaphor.com/
Russian manufacturer of water filter devices with global distribution.

Cool story. What's the pricing for the solo? And any NSF certification?
*
Current Promotion Aquaphor Solo is RM 550 (Later will be RM 650), Singapore selling RM 800+ (SGD 300)
http://healthquest.com.sg/collections/home...or-crystal-solo

Crystal Solo and Eco are mainly for European market, for Europe they use LGA not NSF. Their RO system DWM 101 mainly sold in USA has NSF and one of the cartridge is K2 cartridge which is the one Crystal Solo is using.

Aquaphor is an international brand with HQ in both Europe and USA, therefore some models with NSF some models with LGA.

Hi people,

I am looking for an economical outdoor filter that can remove chlorine almost 100 percent.

Any brand recommendation that is economical and still do the job alright?

Preferably available in Penang.
*
Most outdoor filters do not filter chlorine unless u request them to add carbon. Or u are referring to indoor drinking filter? If indoor u can get aquaphor crystal solo @ rm 550 free delivery inclusive of a filter tap. Low maintenance cost as the replacement is only rm 150. It does not just filter off chlorine alone but contaminants like heavy metals and bacteria as well (with aqualen and silver inside)

Just a reminder to all members my shop will be closed and reopen on 3rd june

Thanks. But I am looking outdoor filter.

Here is one called Tsunami Ipure but I haven't been able to find this one in PEnang. http://www.lelong.com.my/tsunami-ipure-out...7-01-Sale-I.htm

Pentair brand also claims to have similar filter media inside the filter. E.g. multiple types of sands, rocks and carbon.
Both have Activated Carbon.  But in the picture it looks very little in volume to remove chlorine.

Also, I am confused about the media inside the filter. Some say just sand and Tsunami one above shows multiple filter media like sand and rock. What's the difference?
*
Actually it is simple, if you have rock or more layers of different media, the amount of sand will be lesser in the filter. Rock or Sand which do you have have better filtration? Sometimes more doenst mean it is better smile.gif

For landed property, Chlorine is important to protect our water tank from bacteria. That is why most outdoor filters do not filter chlorine unless u do not have a water tank

IC-EZ-1 cartridge can do 3000 gallons (NSF42, need boiling) for RM66/year, what about yours? or any other filter for that matter.
*
Actually cant really find much spec on culligan like how many micron is the filtration? After checking in nsf website it is under norminal particulate class III (5 to 15 micron)
http://www.ezclearwater.com/nsf-standards.php

Just my understanding, most 3m filters are using carbon block like culligan but why 3m cartridges around 600 to 700 gallons but culligan can filter 3000 gallons? Also culligan ez 3 or 4 capacity is only 500galloon. I believe the filter (ez1)is just a basic one that filters very limited comtaminants that is why they are able to claim higher capacity it is more like a prefilter if you ask me rather a drinking filter.

Aquaphor solo on the other hand has aqualen in their carbon block, hence evenly distribute the flow of water, preventing "dead zone" problem and prolonging the filter life. With aqualen, they are able to add microsilver to filter bacteria as well only 3m dws 2500 (cost above 2k) can filter bacteria other models cant and amway espring (cost close to 3k) can as well with uv light. Comparing the cost, aquaphor crystal eco with 3 layers of bacteria filtration (cost rm 1350) is definitely much cheaper or crystal solo single stage bacteria filtration (cost rm 550)

Actually there are too many things to explain and it would be difficult to explain all here. For members who would like to know more about drinking filters do drop by my showroom after 3rd june 2015. We got feedback from customers and we are using several brands of drinking filter in shop and house, therefore we are able to compare base on our drinking experience.

How much does it help to extend the lifespan of AP902 filter? How often do you need to replace the AP055T filter ?

Thanks for sharing, cheers.
*
Actually the reason why people buy ap902 is because of the convenience of without backwash just change cartridge once a year and the compact size. If you install the small ap055t, it is so small, definitely you need to change it more frequent and troublesome. Adding it will make your overall installation look ugly n bulky.

My advise, if your water is very dirty, you have high consumption and landed property use sand filter like my perfect steel. If condo which do not have place for backwash and limited space then get 3m ap902.

Trust me as i installed and tested ap902 close to two years in my house with high usage (all rooms with 10" rain shower and a strong grundfos water pump), filter got clogged in 10 months, then i manually backwash it to prolong the capacity hahahaha.

U mean after go thru EZ1 the water pressure will be too low to go thru one more EZ4?
how about exp date of the filter? will water filter have exp date if not use, cause thinking to buy more to stoke up ez4.
*
Most filter comes with shelf life 1 to 2 years but once use (water flow into cartridge) is one year.

I guess is ok to use ez1 as a prefilter since is only nsf 42 class 3 (5 to 15micron) then ez4 is class 1 (0.5 to 1 micron) better filtration.

Alternatively for better filtration aquaphor could filter bacteria while culligan cant. Pm me if interested can customize for you two units of solo one with 5 micron as prefilter and the other one is 0.7 micron as main filter.

Or cheaper get a ceramic filter as prefilter then aquaphor with 0.8 micron (K7 cartridge).

Actually i already shared the catalog and also a video previously

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4orAkJ_n8...pX2M/view?pli=1

Both Aquaphor solo and eco has aqualen (patented technology) and with this, it could have silver which is use to filter bacteria. There are many other benefits of Aqualen just check them out in my catalog, i did explain some of them previously. However Aquaphor Solo is using K2 cartridge with 3 micron filtration and yes ez4 will be better since it is 0.5 to 1 micron. That is why i suggested to customize Solo with K7 cartridge (0.7 micron). K7 is used for Crystal Eco. We are able to change the cartridge because both solo, eco and also their famous RO system all three using the same compatible cartridge, that means if Aquaphor were to develop a new and better filter you can always upgrade your filter by changing the cartridge. Most brands even 3m once they develop a new model, the cartridge is not compatible with the new models, forcing you to spend more $$ if you want to upgrade.

Only Eco is 0.1 micron.

Official web : www.aquaphor.com.my

Just suggesting another alternative. For those who need to get a drinking filter should read through all the info and then decide what is best for them. If you do not have time then just drop by my showroom for me to explain the details. Thanks.
