Just to add, LG & Hitachi FL are Direct Drive Inverter (no belt & pulley system) compared to other Inverter FL.

In practice though, I don't find much difference between the belt & no belt inverters except that the machine depth is smaller for the same load size.

I would personally avoid Panasonic, as it seems that they haven't resolved the unbalanced load issue.

LG direct drive FL is pretty legendary. rclxms.gif
Without the belt and pulley, less headache (due to out of alignment issue then the belt wear out prematurely, change new belt also become frayed in no time, so need to check and replace suspension as well if its belt and pulley) - whereas direct drive can survive longer even if suspension a bit sux.

Yeah true, and if the machine is equipped with low quality suspension, the belt becomes frayed too often.

Honestly, only our Panasonic machine required two belt replacements (first one was belt slip around 5 years of use, and second one was frayed belt due to bad suspension after 9 years of daily use) ; the other two older FL just died out natural death after 13 years (bearing leak), without any issue on the belt.

Hi Sifu, I looking for WM now. Below 2 models are the same price, which one is preferred?
1) Sharp esx1278 - 12kg, non invertor
2) LG T2313VSPM - 13kg, invertor

I don't mind the WM having a loud sound since I use it before sleeping time.

Take the LG. Bigger rated capacity better.

Liquid like Dynamo with the measuring clear cup is best. Low suds.
Powder u need to get low suds like Kao...the cheapo powder produce too much suds (bubbles)

I prefer powder soap, Max Kleen 9 compared to liquid detergent. Somehow, liquid detergent seem to leave behind some kind of residue in the long run inside the washing machine door seal and dispenser area.

So far my machine still smell fresh after using Max Kleen 9 for more than a year now; the older Panasonic had mouldy smell just after 1 - 2 years of using liquid detergent.

Normally the detergent in powder or liquid form the container will specify if it is suitable for front loading or not. Whichever suitable for front loading will usually suitable for top loading. Detergent suitable for top loading not necessarily suitable for front loading.

It will specify in lettering or indicated with picture of the washing machine.

you are right about the statement Pana FL balancing issue.
im having 1 Pana FL now NA-128VG5. damn annoying. Due to this balancing issue it keep retrying to wash again whenever it unable to balance itself. function that u choosen 30min to wash eventually take 1hour.
worst is when u try to wash those towels or blanket(obsorb a lot water) which may cause balancing error come out and stop functioning. sad.gif
personally i won't buy any Pana washing machine anymore.

I'm having problem with Pana top load, the issue is similar to yours. Sometimes when I only want to use the spin function it keep trying to wash and no matter what I do, I cannot use the spin function without letting it do the washing.
Anyone with similar situation know how to solve the problem?

Actually i prefer ori washing machine liquid without softener. Most of my stuff do not go well with softener. without it, machine also cleaner.

You have to distribute the load evenly in the tub (if its towel, make sure its length wise evenly loaded in a circular fashion instead of one ball dump in),

we also have trouble running rinse + spin or spin only on the LG FL after doing manual rinse; it weighs the clothe and runs a deep rinse for 2 hours if it senses the load is heavy.

End up, now just do full wash without soaking, which comes out clean anyways.

Hi bosses,

Im going to get a house and planning to buy a <10KG washing machine.
My budget is <1.5k.

I dont know should I get topload or frontload.

I survey and noticed that most frontload is more expensive than topload?
Is it frontload is more expensive than topload if their function/spec is similiar?

If my budget is 1.5k, what would u guys suggest to get? best budget in this price range?

So far I saw some "handsome" topload, but not sure if they are good
1. Sharp ESX858/ESY1019
2. Panasonic NA-F90A9DRT/NA-FD95X1BRT
3. Toshiba AW-DUK1150HM

Hi Sifus.

After reading some of the posts, I am thinking of getting the FV1450S4V 10.5kg Front Load Washer with AI Direct Drive™ and Steam™.

Is it a good model? Any issue with this model?

thanks in advance?

Been using the same family line for 16months already, FV1450H2B with dryer.
so far so good, quite. the thinkQ apps really helpful, reminding you the wash is complete etc etc
