Machine's about 5 years, only the small part where you press in is not functioning, not sure if it's called a catch, but was informed will need to change the whole door, for the second time in a year. price is for the whole door.
*
The door open is by a press of a button? I have learned to never buy a machine with such mechanism again. My old Europa had it, supposedly for being child proof but in reality this is a design that is very prone to failure.

the whole economics of the situation is not right. i don't think the do a factory run just for my door because it is an outdated model or else it would cost more than 300. so it's down to either a) they didn't make enough spares, ie bad inventory management or b) their product is so crap that they've exhausted their spares, ie bad product. None of which can justify loading the expenses onto customers.
*
Sharp front loaders are not very popular, I believe it is a OEM model from some lesser known manufacturer. While Hitachi and Panasonic is relatively new for front loaders in Malaysia, they do sell the same model worldwide. This was one of my consideration when I purchased the Panasonic but sadly Panasonic controls their spare parts inventory, so we cannot get spares from overseas as well.

I need a recommendation for a washer that doesn't tear your cloth, less wrinkles on suits or school uniform, gentle on baby's,bedsheets and comforter. Any washer that suits me? I've been washing all cloth by hand since last month. As a single father(I have no helper here)I can't take this anymore. Budget under RM15k
P/s:I wash my bedsheets every week

Buy samsung WW8000 front load, you never regret.

I am also planning to buy the WD-CD1006SM next week.

Question : There are times that my company may send me out of the country for up to 9 to 12 months in a year. What if a washer/dryer combo machine is unused for 9 to 12 mths? Would it spoil?

Just to share I got replacement of my top loading washing machine. Previous Samsung 8.8kg motor kaput I think. Can see the oil leaking on the floor. Seems the lifespan more or less as stated by the 5 yrs warranty.

Getting the same brand with 11kg with new technology like wobble and digital inverter motor. Was surprised with the improvement especially the motor which is much more quieter. Can wash at midnight without disturbing anyone sleeping at night.

Intend to get the front loading but no platform to put the machine so that no need to bend down to load or unload clothing.
