GSC has added shows for midnight Dec 16. So now I finally can see the first show in Malaysia in the best hall in 2D - ATMOS-THX. LieMAX is a bit better but no 2D so no deal.
There are so many ways to watch this movie IMAX 3D / 2D / 3D / D-Box / etc.
I'll start with IMAX 3D, then perhaps the week after try 2D / D-Box etc.. One viewing may not be sufficient. Hopefully. IMAX should have been without 3D, but oh well.
D-Box could be interesting especially during the big space battles / light-saber duels.
I'll be watching at least twice, gonna watch again with my kids on Dec 19. I think D-BOX is not really a big deal, just vibrations on your seat. I've been getting that in the THX hall in Summit USJ from the awesome sound there, it's still the best in Malaysia for me. Now I can also get that in my own theater at home.
By the way, what happen to the THX hall in Summit USJ? They're not showing The Force Awakens in that hall.
no doubt to enjoy this movie till max is by going into IMAX.....and this is fastest selling IMAX movie i ever seen....just half day also all the best seats gone.....

My home theater is better than any cinema in Malaysia. Seriously, it all just comes back on how you appreciate the experience and not everyone is the same. For me this LieMAX is loud, which is nothing to say about quality, only the slightly bigger screen is the redeeming factor but it's not even 15/70 mm anyway.

Almost 10 years after the last star wars movie, and you're asking me to wait for the bluray?
Does anyone know the difference between IMAX 3D and Maxx Atmos other than the companies and the fact that Berjaya Times Square, which is now GSC, was formerly an IMAX theater? Have to take into account screen size, screen curve, 3D or not, and the format of the film ie. digital, 35mm or 70mm.

Looking forward to watching the first Star Wars movie with an aging Luke, Han, and Leia, supported by a host of new and younger characters, soon... I've been a Star Wars fan since school days, back in the 90s, and love all the movies - especially the original trilogy!
At the same time, Mid Valley had a big Star Wars event last weekend and that got my Star Wars fanboy-ism going - resulting in a purchase of three Hot Wheels die-cast models (Millennium Falcon, TIE Fighter, X-Wing) and a Darth Vader Lego Buildable Figure!
