Looking forward to watching the first Star Wars movie with an aging Luke, Han, and Leia, supported by a host of new and younger characters, soon... I've been a Star Wars fan since school days, back in the 90s, and love all the movies - especially the original trilogy! rclxms.gif

At the same time, Mid Valley had a big Star Wars event last weekend and that got my Star Wars fanboy-ism going - resulting in a purchase of three Hot Wheels die-cast models (Millennium Falcon, TIE Fighter, X-Wing) and a Darth Vader Lego Buildable Figure! laugh.gif

I saw some of you having tickets for the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens. And never knew that the cinema operators open up advance bookings for the movie, all this while! ohmy.gif

Looks like it's too late for me to get good dates and seats for this very long-awaited movie then (which, unfortunately, also clashes with my trip to Langkawi, a few days after December 17)! sad.gif

Hmmm, maybe I'll have to watch "The Force Awakens" in Langkawi, as there's a small cinema in Kuah, where I'm staying. Although I won't be surprised that the place will be full, as the locals there will surely be checking out that movie too! laugh.gif

Either that or wait until I'm back home and watch the movie in the local theaters here instead! thumbup.gif

Before the Second Death Star gets attacked... There was this one hamburger-shaped ship and another with four wings doing survey nearby! tongue.gif

(Edited with my two Hot Wheels models together with Preview and PowerPoint - odd combo, I know, but works well though! laugh.gif )

GSC MAXX in Berjaya Times Square? Or maybe even the IMAX Theater in TGV 1 Utama?

I can safely say that these two have the best sound and visuals, for an epic space adventure like Star Wars Episode VII! rclxms.gif

Someone was playing Star Wars: Battlefront?

Too bad I'm using a Mac, which means I can't play Battlefront as of now (one of the disadvantages of switching to , haha! :lol). But will EA Games be releasing an iOS version anytime soon? hmm.gif

AFAIK, the game is only available on Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, from what I saw in the Wikipedia article! sad.gif

Millennium Falcon and X-Wing Fighter spotted flying past the Petronas Twin Towers (I know my editing is rather poor - newbie to all these stuff)... Getting into the Star Wars mood already, haha! laugh.gif

And somewhat surprisingly, I checked the 9-plus and 2350 hrs. screening on December 17 at Paradigm Mall and there are still many seats available! How come no one is watching that movie in Kelana Jaya (unless everyone is catching the earlier times)? hmm.gif

In fact, my wife (who isn't a Star Wars fan) asked me to buy a midnight ticket for myself, if I want to catch that movie, since our condo is just opposite Paradigm Mall! tongue.gif

The iconic, one-of-a-kind (i.e. hamburger shaped, haha! laugh.gif) Millennium Falcon is being surrounded by X-Wing and TIE Fighters - and all five will be seen in the upcoming "The Force Awakens"! rclxms.gif

I'm planning to catch "The Force Awakens" at Paradigm Mall, as it's the mall closest to my condo - and likely to be one of the midnight screenings. This is because my wife won't accompany me to watch the movie as she does not understand what the whole story is about, even when watching Episodes 3 & 4 last weekend (all 6 movies are being shown over three weekends on AEC Channel 306 btw, in Mandarin and English). tongue.gif

Thankfully no one in PJ seems to watch movies at the GSC here, which means I can still wait until later this week to get my tickets, haha! laugh.gif

I have my tickets for the Friday midnight screening over at Paradigm Mall - because it's just opposite my condo and I don't have to travel so far to watch that movie, haha (and with my wife's blessing too)! laugh.gif

Looking forward to watching Episode 7, after catching the reruns of the six previous movies, shown over three weekends on Astro Ch. 306 (the last movie was shown on Sunday, December 13, btw)! rclxms.gif

I recently rewatched Episode 1-6 too.....just to refresh my memory on the original trilogy biggrin.gif
In Episode VI, Mark Hamill got significantly older than Empire Strikes Back @_@

Crap, I saw there were IMAX seats available for tomorrow night's screening and yet I can't make payment online, all got rejected. What crapiness is this? ipay88 sucks tongue.gif
*
Use the online banking services provided by the bank instead - should be FAR more reliable than iPay88! icon_rolleyes.gif

And let me guess, you're watching the movie in TGV's IMAX theaters? Damn, too bad Paradigm's GSC doesn't have such bombastic sounds or visual, although watching "The Force Awakens" in a cinema is light years away better than on the small screen! laugh.gif

I watched TFA at 2350 hrs last night, at GSC Paradigm Mall as it's just opposite my condo (but the movie only started at 0005 hrs, no thanks to many advertisements) and loved the whole movie!

No doubt some people noted the similarities to "A New Hope", which is true, but TFA makes it better with the introduction of a bunch of memorable new characters (Rey, Finn, Poe, Kylo Ren, and that lovable BB-8) to complement the legends like Han, Leia, Chewie, and Luke. As well as the far more superior special effects + realistic explosions, and who can forget the iconic Millennium Falcon, X-Wing (the black one is so cool), and TIE Fighters all making lengthy appearances here?

In fact, the Millennium Falcon followed me into the theater and here's a shot of it with the poster, haha! laugh.gif

Four words about "The Force Awakens" - It's so darn good! thumbup.gif rclxms.gif

What a way to both introduce the Star Wars Universe to a new generation of fans (the second generation onwards, of the people who watched the original trilogy in the early 80s), as well as for the old characters to pass the baton to the young guns who will carry the flag into Episodes 8, 9, and beyond. Rey, Finn, Poe, and BB-8 will definitely be having more battles against the villains led by the menacing Supreme Leader Snoke and his apprentice Kylo Ren in the coming two movies!

Of course, that scene which shows one of the legendary characters getting killed was one hell of a shocker! ohmy.gif

Disney said Sunday that Star Wars: The Force Awakens broke the $1 billion mark around the world faster than any other film in history. The sci-fi adventure movie reached the milestone 12 days after its global release. That is one day earlier than the previous record holder -- Universal's "Jurassic World," which was released earlier this year. The seventh film in the "Star Wars" saga has made $544.5 million in the U.S.

I'm known as the "Millennium Falcon" over in Google Plus and posted an article about this amazing milestone - and this is considering that Star Wars: The Force Awakens has not even made it to China yet... Whereas previous record holder Jurassic World hit the $1b mark thanks to the release of the film of the Chinese market! rclxms.gif

the sad thing is after watching this TFA, its clear that JJ can make a good movie if they follow legends
sad.gif

not much toys/branding to sell though....

True, and thanks to the introduction of new characters to complement the legendary ones, look at the amount of merchandise that we can see in the local Toys R Us or Hamley's stores - whether made by Hasbro, Hot Wheels, Lego, or some other manufacturer. rclxms.gif

We now see icons like R2-D2, Han Solo, and the Millennium Falcon being displayed together with Kylo Ren's Lightsaber, the (really cool) black X-Wing piloted by Poe Dameron, and a BB-8 model, for instance! thumbup.gif

I have not seen the show but my relatives have

however even if I see the show I will be as confused as them so I better ask your opinion - this Rey girl - is she Luke's daughter or Han Solo's other child or somebody else only to be known in movie 8?
*
Some theories mentioned about Rey being Luke Skywalker's daughter, which explains how she gradually embraced the Force throughout "The Force Awakens". And there are others saying that Rey is actually Han Solo and Leia Organa's daughter but whichever scenario is true, this will still make her a relative of the main villain, Kylo Ren (either as cousin or sister - since Ren is Han's son)! rclxms.gif

Anyway, like what everyone else will do, I'll just sit back and wait until Episode 8 comes out in 2017! laugh.gif
