Tamarind : Great ambience, amazing indochinese food. A bit pricey around 200++ for two.

Tophat : I never been into this restaurant yet.

Maredo : Good steak, simple . Around 80 per head. Steak price was a bit above any popular steakhouse.

Prime : Great steak I've ever tried. I like the ambient and of course they can do romantic dinner for you if you mentioned on your reservation. On the other side, the price are totally cost you bomb. Expect 500++ for middle class meat.

Other restaurant that I'm suggested :

Angus Steakhouse, Pavillion. (Western)
Fisherman Cove, Starhill (Exotics Seafood)
El Amar, Pavillion. (Middle East)

hotel restaurants normally cost 1001 bombs when the bills arrives ... i was thinking either "the ship" , "san francisco steakhouse" , "victoria station" ...

Topup your budget a bit and enjoy your steak at Maredo. Its better than your list there.

Why don't you try a romantic candlelight dinner at the revolving restaurant up on Menara KL? Perfect romantic ambience, unique location, nice food all combined together.

Reservation for Revolving Restaurant: +603 2145 1833

Highly recommend Maredo.

Go early and the place is pretty empty. Can have all the privacy you want, plus the ambiance is pretty nice.
Check out a short review on my blog about the food there.
Maredo's steakhouse short review

The food there is top notch and well portioned.

Oh yea, it's way better than The ship, VS and other generic steakhouse. Din't know Argentinian food is that good. smile.gif

Have you heard of a japanese place called Fukuya? If you call the restaurant and make a reservation, you can also ask the chef to come up with a custom dinner according to your budget. He'll fix up whatever is the freshest of the day, while trying to stick to your budget.

Went there recently and it was definately worth the money. A bit on the high side at RM100++ per person but you definately get ur money's worth.

The phone number and details on the restaurant can be found here:

Fukuya

No. 9, Jalan Delima 55100 ,

Kuala Lumpur

(Behind Indonesian Embassy)

Mondays - Saturdays 12:00pm - 2:30pm (lunch)

6:30pm - 10:30pm (Dinner)

Sundays : closed

Cuisine: Japanese

Halal, Private parking

Tel: +60(3) 2144 1022/2144 1077

www.fukuya.com.my

And you can check out what we had for our meal here:

Fukuya Fine Dining

Enjoy urselves!

not interest places like The Apartment, TGIF, TonyRs, Italiannes, too common nothing special. the german restaurant i tried before too...
no specified in what kind of food, as long as not Chinese, india, Malay food... prefer like those romantic, dimmed places, which allow couple wear pretty pretty to enjoy meal with good servicing type.

right. at least this gives us better view of what you want.

usually Hotels cater pretty well. I just had lunch at Westin KL and it was nice. No idea about the restaurants but I heard it's good.

personally, if I were you I'd top up the budget a bit more cos those places offer you what you had in mind are almost always more pricey.

That day I saw Tamarind Hill restaurant at Jalan Sultan Ismail, just beside the Wisma KFC. They open a branch there, or they move there?

La Fite is a terrible place to be. Stuck up.

I don't like the stuck up environment. Suited up and everything.

Laid back, easy going and good food is what eating is all about. You'd rather go to Zipangu if La Fite was on your mind.
