So after firing 6 CS-6 Magazines in a row and one entire CS-35 Drum, I find the CS-6 Magazines more satisfying. Although the Raider is awkward to reload, I can still manage without having to let go of the grip, and I can do it in decent time.
Limiting factor on speed is grabbing and storing the individual magazines. On a full Velcro setup with magazines attached to my pants i can do it in around 5 seconds, and closer to 10 if they are in the cargo pants pockets. I imagine this would be quicker every two reloads if you used flip magazines (duct tape or that gray thing). The drum is just awkward to carry/load, but i have ideas involving a Velcro Jacket setup. Added on September 16, 2009, 10:12 pm ![]() At this stage i can safely call myself a collector. This post has been edited by Afoxisko: Sep 16 2009, 10:13 PM |

I imagine a battery/belt modded Vulcan does things that no Raider can do.

So how are non-tournament Nerf Wars played out? Do you guys set a limit on the number of weapons you can carry?

Consider for a moment that the Hornet is one of those rare Nerf guns you can dual-wield and actually be effective with.
Honestly though, I'd buy one and keep it as a sidearm to a bigger weapon. |

I have hornet!
And it's a very solid gun, except the reloading part. Also, highest rate of fire among the guns I have (no i don't have Rapid Fire or Magstrike). Added on October 4, 2009, 10:33 pmAlso, this is cool. This post has been edited by Afoxisko: Oct 4 2009, 10:33 PM |

Flip Clips are a good buy IMO, they come with two clips and 30 streamlines, and that grey thingy is a bonus if you're too lazy to duct tape the magazines yourself.
As long as you don't try to force 7 darts into a magazine they won't fall off under normal* use. I bought mine in Singapore, Sun Tec City TRU when I went there for raya. * - does not include being tackled, falling down, disarmed, etc. Best thing I have done so far - Shotgun Blast Hornet with Sonic Darts, you can hear them howling pretty loudly. |

Hmm... my Hornet is rather finicky with the pressure pump, but I've found a way to get it to pressurize properly, reliably.
1 - If the weapon has some air pressure left, skip to step 4. 2 - Pull the trigger until the shot # indicator is not visible. 3 - Pump 5 times. 4 - Prime the blaster so that the shot indicator is at shot #1. 5 - Pump 10 more times. 6 - Finish. Explanation: - If the weapon is unpressurized and i skip to step 4, i notice that air will leak out the barrels and push out any darts. - Pumping more than 6-7 times at step 3 and then priming+firing only gets me 2-5 meters range, as if the weapon had no pressure. - Yes, i can get good shot power with only 15 pumps, but i suspect the weapon maxes out at 18 or so. I can not confirm this. So yeah, this whole thing is weird, anyone else with a Hornet seen anything like this? EDIT: Just to clarify, the weapon itself works great, and it works well if i follow those steps, just finding it weird that It has to be done that way. EDIT2: More Hornet Quirks - You have to aim a lot lower than usual with the Hornet, as the barrels seem to be tilted upward. This post has been edited by Afoxisko: Oct 6 2009, 11:12 PM |

Strange, off the top of my head Subang Parade TRU had ZERO Mavericks for sale as well. I'll check 1U tomorrow.
Added on October 8, 2009, 3:06 pmSpeaking of which, what is the range on a stock Raider CS-35? I'm noticing my nephew shooting darts with like 4-6 meters range and wondering if the spring is ruined or something. EDIT: Raider, not Recon. Always get confused since i use the drum on my Recon. I modded my Maverick and Recon on the same day and both done with a small phillips screwdriver to open the damn things up, a large phillips screwdriver (Recon Air Restrictor, basically heated the screwdriver until it was red and poked it through), and a box cutter (again, heated until red) for the maverick barrel removal and Air Restrictor. Oh the and a box cutter for the Recon Any Dart mod, and then file/dremel it so that it doesn't destroy the darts it fires.
Cant post pics now, since both are at home and the only gun i have in office is my Hornet. This post has been edited by Afoxisko: Oct 9 2009, 04:08 PM |

I guess it's a good thing my prized Recon has 8 6-Shot Magazines and a 35-Shot Drum for a grand total of 83 shots eh?
EDIT: Yeah yeah I'll get around to modding the Longshot. Eventually. I'm liking the Recon pistol form too much to care about the Longshot. This post has been edited by Afoxisko: Oct 19 2009, 10:46 PM |

Which is sad, because they sell like hot cakes if they ever bring in stock.
Oh, if any of you are going to SG, they sell a shit tonne of CS-6 Magazines there. EDIT: Typo. This post has been edited by Afoxisko: Oct 21 2009, 02:15 PM |
