A little progress update. This will be the base color for my Longshot. Once done I will do some minor detailing with other colors (gun metal, flat black, etc.). Since the second blaster is nothing to shout about, I'm thinking of replacing the internal with a flashlight instead.  sweat.gif

Zeroglyph,

Can saw your photos on how to mod the longshot CS-6 and understand it.
But can you please state the steps or if possible upload a video about it?
Bcoz i drilled a giant hole like you did and nearly everything inside the chamber which we cant see are all destroyed~
and there are some things that i cant reach like the spring and crumpled stuff in it. I got fed-up and place the whole gun back together.
Only leaving the "Load Indicator" (the colour thing that shows you u loaded ur gun) and the thing that locks your clip so that it cant be plucked off after you load your gun. My point is. after some KASAR modding... i did not see any improvements. same as my recon it only has power but not a very good range. i say your thread saying that it can travel great distance even with the barrel.. mine cant even shoot properly with the barrel  shakehead.gif

icon_question.gif  icon_question.gif  icon_question.gif  icon_question.gif  icon_question.gif

reply quick. im leaving my longshot open till u reply me. (hope i did not break my 150 dollar toy  rclxub.gif )
*
sorry for the late reply, i was tired from work and slept early last night.

anyway, i use drill to take both AR for the LS. for the main gun, inside the chamber(after drilling), you'll see the AR. from your descriptions, i think you broke the AR(yes the AR is quite big and long). it doesn't matter(i broke mine too). you didn't break the pole that holds the darts, right(check from the front)?

the next step is to make the whole wider so that you can take out the broken AR and its spring. then clean up. make sure the pole in front is not broken. as long as that pole is intact, you're on the right track.

QUOTE(nugget1123 @ Apr 9 2009, 11:11 PM)

Added on April 9, 2009, 11:11 pmbtw.. does anyone know how to take the AR of the Front Attachment of the longshot?
*
it's the same way, drill it. for videos, you can search youtube for some. the front gun is easier than the main gun.

does it matter if i broke the dart holder?
and after all that, the chamber should be empty, right?
*
it's ok i guess. but i'm staying with my point that the pole actually helps with accuracy, so i prefer them intact.
how's the progress now?

QUOTE(nugget1123 @ Apr 11 2009, 11:58 PM)
since its claimed having "laughable" distance i dont think i would even consider one... as u cant even mod it...
*
my reason for not owning a vulcan: 6 D batts? <-- not very cost efficient.

its fine now =] but i broke the stand to get the broken pieces out == coz the hole at the back of the plunger is drilled already and hard to drill bigger..
i'll try to take everything out when i have the time. thanks anyways =] it can fire about the same distance with my moded recon now.. i dont expect much distance from them as when u play with frens its fun enough =] i use to compare the distance of a nerf with a bb... but.... impossible lor  whistling.gif

hope that the number of nerfers in johor increases... cant wait for a nerf war  drool.gif  drool.gif  drool.gif
*
as i mentioned in the PM, you need to use a cutter to make the hole bigger after drilling. cutting inside-out. a bigger hole at the back is actually needed for better compression(from my observation).

i'm actually planning to put one of those small laser pointer into my longshot, when i'm not too lazy that is. laugh.gif

Finished firing a full salvo of my nerf arsenal. that's maverick with 36 microdarts and longshot with 22 streamlines(4 clips).

i must say i prefer firing the micro darts. at around 20feet from target, the streamlines were bouncing and flying all over the place. picking them up was a real pain. the microdarts just stick and fall. laugh.gif

i really can't imagine firing with a vulcan shakehead.gif .

Now the yellow come out cry.gif
*
fyi yellow LS only has 1 clip with 6 darts. blue LS has 2 clips with 12 darts. you're paying more only for the colour difference. i'd pick the blue one anyday. the yellow one is only good if you want to attach recon parts on it.

yes the red BBB and yellow LS is available at TRU. just saw it today(only saw 1 yellow LS left though).

i painted my longshot flat black ^^
but it still sucks without d dart holder...
didnt u guys say d blue ones are old stock?
coz i do see colour faded when i first bought it...
*
see...without the center pole, your darts will go out of control because the air pressure is all over the place.

yeah, the blue LS is old stock. replacing the o-rings helps a lot with range.

another problem i have with my LongShot  rclxub.gif
a few weeks back , broken bits of plastics dropped out from the gun through the barrel when i was cocking the LS.. (pointing it downwards of course)
i did not care as there isn't any problems shooting the gun. whistling.gif  until last saturday... i got bored and so i opened up my LongShot~ i found out that one of the 2 little screws holding the Spring with the Plunger (i think) was broken.. the plastic stuff broke but the screw was still there... there still aren't any problems shooting the gun (yet) but i am afraid that one day it will break  sad.gif  so i'm hoping to get some advises~

Should i Hot Glue it? Super Glue it? Tie with rubber band?  tongue.gif or just leave it alone??
Do reply and thanks if you guys do...

currently there is this spring echo thingy when i dry fire my gun... like... "BLAM--MMMMOOOOIIINNNNGGGGGGIEEGGGIEEE"  blink.gif

the famous "+" thing... dart holder or POLE~~  laugh.gif

YUP YUP! GOOD QUESTION!
all the O-rings i have hunted for in my area are thick ones..
and those which are not thick are sized smaller than my butthole  tongue.gif
where do u get them??
*
i had a crack at the same place (curse my mighty strength laugh.gif ). i just superglued it back. it didn't break though.

the echoing? damn i hate those. i always ensure my guns don't have those. perhaps, i'll post some tips later. in your case i think it's because of the broken plastic though(since nothing is holding the spring) .

guys check this video out!
this is a LongShot CS-6 mod video..
he didnt use any drilling instead he just used a plyer~~
i tried that but i didnt dare to pull too hard...
scared my plunger rosak~~

btw i ordered the longshot but the dealer gong gong give me the yellow longshot... looks great but only have one damn clip = =
*
well using a plier requires force. plastic + force = not a good thing. i honestly think that drilling is the safest bet. provided you can control the drill of course sweat.gif .

Hey guys, i just modded my new yellow longshot this afternoon.
all i did was the AR removal coz im waiting for my spring and Orings..
after removing the AR i found out that i cant pull the bolt 100% backwards.. it reaches like 95% and stops there... blocking 5% of my clip from getting in = =
its kinda annoying as i want to reload fast = = any suggestions?
*
did you assemble it correctly?. LS is a b1tch to assemble, make sure all the parts are in the right place.

All I can say bout the Longshot is that.. IT IS BIG~!!!!! thumbup.gif  Like a real assault rifle you wish you had when you were a kid.

it gets even better if you remove the AR and paint it. brows.gif

Paanjang16, I can see you haven't push all back of that handle, push it harder.

The back of handle ( that grey part ) is stick to that shotgun grey part that is behind the handle.
*
yup push harder. you'll hear it snap if done correctly.

and yes, micro darts can't be fired by LS and recon. it's get stuck and get squished.

p/s: i wanted to make the blaster integration mod, but i really like my longshot to be.....well long. serious dilemma here rclxub.gif .

@ zero, best solution, buy another Longshot haha laugh.gif But make sure dun assemble the bolt B4 you modify, since the bolt handle once you put it together you cannot take it apart.
*
getting another LS is not an option. the thing is just too darn big!!!

you can remove the priming handle with a claw hammer. but you need to be careful so not to dmg the main body.

Sgnerf! You. Yes, you.

You seem to have the largest inventory among us. Tell me, have you done a dart comparison? Which darts fly further, faster, more accurately, etc.
*
well, it's a well known fact that streamlines is the fastest and micro darts is the slowest. accuracy, as long as the darts can't spin in flight, there's no way one can be more accurate than the other.

Clearly several others are more accurate than one of them.

so doing a loop in mid flight is "accurate"?

how do you define accurate then? nerf darts are all designed the same way, in that they are not designed to spin in flight. why do you think arrows have fins? why do you think guns have grooves inside the barrel? why do you think tranquilizer darts have those feathers at the back? one word, accuracy. sure a streamline fired from a modded longshot is fast, but it's no where near accurate. neither does any other nerf darts. they will fly at the same pattern. hitting a target does not necessarily mean a dart type is more accurate than the other. it's just luck. the darts itself doesn't have anything to control them in flight. it's just sheer force.

Reading comprehension please. I did say most of the other ones are more accurate than one of them. And clearly before that I had mentioned Streamlines.

Are you doing this on purpose?

ok, let's see your actual point from your previous reply.

so your point? streamline is less accurate.

my point, the accuracy of the darts avg out to be same. the only reason why a streamline is less accurate is because it's faster and lighter than the others. given all the darts are fired with the same speed, it's the same altogether. fire all the darts from a maverick and you'll find the streamline actually has a better flight pattern. so no, no dart is actually more accurate than the other. they only differs in speed.

Streamlines have crap accuracy. Taggers are overall the best stock darts.

Did you know that there's a performance difference between Black Foam Sonic Darts and Orange Foam Sonic Darts?

So yes, there are differences between darts.

...and you are basing you claims on?
