the nite finder is said to be better than the maverick in some ways. Maverick is the average in my opinion. Still have yet to get this two sidearms.
*
the nite finder doesn't have a reloading mechanism like maverick. therefore, giving the nite finder better air compression. maverick's barrel is it's weakness and also it's strength. having to manual reload after each shot is just boring. plus, maverick is better looking overall. thumbup.gif

we're talking about the nite finder, right?

if yes, then it's true. a nite finder can be potentially more powerful than a longshot with proper mod. why? as i stated before, it's because it doesn't have a reloading mechanism, so the barrel can be air tight for better compression. although......no reload mechanism = gay laugh.gif .

Wow. You know what buyin 2 MAVERICKS makes feel kinda badass.

BTW Maverick + 30 Dart refill = RM64.80!!
*
well, that's the only way to go. to quote myself in another post in this thread:

QUOTE(zeroglyph @ Aug 18 2008, 11:31 PM)
just removed the air-restrictor. haven't drilled the holes yet. review?

- getting 6 barreled cool looking dart gun..............RM35  sweat.gif
- getting extra micro darts...................................RM30  sweat.gif
- going to midvalley's TRU.................................FREE (got a meeting there today)  brows.gif
- hearing the powerful thud of the darts hitting something flat..........priceless  thumbup.gif
- NOT having to get up to pick the darts after every sixth shot.........priceless  thumbup.gif

so conclusion:

your six rotating barrels means nothing without spare ammo  brows.gif.

i will soon continue with the drilling and half-way barrel mod. pictures later  thumbup.gif .

The Maverick tops most of the guns. Haven't tried the NFinder yet. The Vulcan seems pretty weak though, its just fun to have lol.

you haven't tried a longshot without the restrictor, have you? brows.gif

you'd definitely change your mind after that.

I am not one for modding nerf guns. I am happy with how they are.

well, if that's the case, then mavericks is probably the must have. eventhough the nite finder is better, it doesn't have a reload mechanism.

The longshot is a "must have". I've removed the AR and bi-pod. Now thingking of doing the blaster integration mod just like below  brows.gif

*
nice. btw, did you noticed that the longshot's ring rubber for its plunger is kinda loose. i think what we are getting now are actually old stock.

The front gun of my Longshot has some problems. Can't cock anymore. I gotta slam the damn thing by the side first lol.,
*
probably something's loose inside. this proves my point that the longshot we get here are old stocks. the front gun has a fairly simple firing mechanism, not too difficult to repair.

is there any guns that can fire all the bullets? (no including missles of coz).
anyone tried modding their bullets to increase range/accuracy/etc?
*
mavericks, firefly and nite finder can fire all darts.

Unfortunately, the new Yellow Longshot will cost the same as the current blue one RM149.90

I suggest don't who haven't the blue one get it now. The yellow ones only come with one clip and 6 darts whereas the blue ones comes with two clips and 12 darts.

On your Longshot review: It certainly looks very awesome! Now we can buy many accessories to put on without it looking too funny. Hehe, the yellow really looks cool man...
*
really? same price with less part? so we're paying extra just for colour change?

get your blue longshot now people!!!!

Next question - has anyone found out where to get CS-6 clips locally? I just got my Recon and I'm surprised to only have 1 clip.
*
clips has been floating around it most major stores. RM29.90 for 2 clips and 10 darts(damn hasbro, can't they just give us 12 darts?). i just got mine last Monday.

and yes, recon only comes with one clip. which is why i waited for the longshot. now i have 4 clips rclxm9.gif .

I have 11 streamline magazines in my stockpile now. 1 from my CS6 Recon, 2 from my Longshot and 8 from the magazine pack that came with 10 darts, plus the 30 streamline darts pack.  rclxm9.gif

Added the Nite Finder spring to my Longshot this morning, AR removed, reinforced the plunger rubber washer. Awesome!  rclxms.gif
AR removed from my Recon too, increase in range but not as good as the Longshot.

Ok some test range done in my office. From where I stood to the end of the wall was approx. 16m (52.5 feet).

The Longshot: all the darts hit the wall and bounced back  rclxms.gif

The Recon with the front attachment: Average was 12m (39 feet)
The Recon without front attachment: Hit the wall but the bounce were not as hard as the Longshot, still..  rclxm9.gif
*
what the.....? i just reinforce my longshot plunger last night!!!! laugh.gif

but i don't have an extra spring to add cry.gif . but yeah, definitely has better range with extra o-ring. even with the front attachment my longshot has good range now. changed my maverick's o-ring too. although i have to find another way to reinforce the longshot's front unit since the o-ring set i bought didn't fit.

haven't tested the exact range yet though.

wow, glad to see that many has ventured to modding their guns thumbup.gif . seriously, it's a fun experience.

the maverick is probably the easiest to mod, no cutting is actually needed. as i mentioned before, unless we can find a way to make the dart spin in flight, the pole inside the maverick acts like a stabilizer. i really think it helps the darts stays on course. so yeah, the maverick is probably the "less-tool-required" winner.

i'm too lazy to start painting my guns, but i can't wait to see some creativity here. also, again as before, be reminded that the longshot is seriously underpowered out of the box, you need to remove the AR to see it's potential.

happy darting. icon_rolleyes.gif

Anyone tried the straw mode on the Maverick? I have done mine but the result is not good, the range is shorter. Anyone encounter this prob?
*
the one where you fill the plunger chamber with epoxy (narrowing the cylinder down to straw size)?. i really don't see much benefit in it. i don't think it actually helps increase the range at all.

so my answer, no.

btw, thanks for the pics ganaz-x. icon_rolleyes.gif

zeroglyph, you got mod cs-6 for remove AR is it? Do you drill a big hole there or just punch out the AR then close back ?

What for those guy drill a big hole there ?
*
you're referring to LS? yes, you gotta drill the whole big enough to get the AR out. refer to my pics some pages back on how it should look like after the drilling.
