Federer today was akin to the old Fed, with those crazily good drop shots. Not many can pull a drop shot in the angle that he was in and make it bounce less than a feet. Honestly, Roddick lost because of his lagging forehand. I don't know why he won't go back to his flat-returns that he has back in 2003, those were instant bombs. Roddick only did that shot once in his match today, scored the point, but didn't do it again. Added on May 16, 2009, 4:35 amSuper comeback from Nadal again against Verdasco in the first set.... QUOTE(eason47 @ May 17 2009, 12:39 PM) yeah... i watched it at there yesterday nite... great match... I think Federer needs to cut down those unforced errors when he's playing against Nadal... I saw his match against Del Potro stats...he made 24 errors if not mistaken... Especially on his backhands. He used to have one of the best backhands on the tour, now.... its more of a question if his backhand flat-shots and topspins will go in or not. I think he needs to go ask his fellow countrymen Wawrinka for some advice on that.

I watched the delayed match on Astro, Rafa looks so.... pissed in a way during the trophy presentation. But Fed's forehand was absolutely marvelous, almost as good as it was a few a years ago. Oh and of course, those drop shots of his... totally, amazing. Ball bounces on the same spot and not higher than 2 feet! Nuts!

He still needs to improve on his serves consistency though. Although he got alot of aces from the match with Nadal and especially with Roddick, his consistentncy in serving is really.... poor.

Because Asstro thinks: Football = instant money. Which is not of course.
Either ways, Roland Gaross on its own channel... good enough for me.

I watched Ivanovic match when it started at 5pm, pretty easy victory for her.
Then got a glimpse at Lyeton Hewitt and Ivo Karlovic's match. Hewitt looks so pitiful, long time didn't see him anyways. Nothing like he was back in 2000 and 2001 where his return serves are absolutely instant points.

Yeap, one thing he hasn't lost is his spirit and his will to continue playing. No doubt, he has never liked clay surfaces. Lets hope he can somehow do something special yet once again in Wimbledon, his favourite surface.
Hey hey, 2 current greatest? Theres also Andy Roddick playing!

Rather than saying him not playing well, how about Daniel is playing superbly well instead? I'm sick of always hearing the main point being Nadal only.
Daniel played superbly in his match, he lost straight sets but on almost every points that he won(not counting Nadal's unforced errors), those were very impressive.

QUOTE(Bepeon @ May 27 2009, 07:13 AM) Today's Schedule- All start at 5PM Malaysian Time Lolz. After a quite quiet day, not with Serena Williams of course, we will Murray, Nadal, Sharapova and Ivanovic all playing.. I think Sharapova gonna be in deep trouble today... because Petrova is a very good clay court player, and Sharapova, she has just started her comeback.. and to face such good player on clay is really tough for her. Nadal didn't play really well in his first match.. so its really interesting to see how he performs today... Looking forward to Murray's match. Sharapova as well of course. Indeed she's going to to have a tough fight today, especially when I think her shoulder probably hasn't recovered 100% yet(okay maybe it has, lots of fake injuries these days). Her strokes hasn't been as strong and deep as before though, a little bit of disadvantage too.

QUOTE(kirua_zordick @ May 27 2009, 02:23 PM) Yup, and the way she overreact during the last point (jumping like a mad woman)...wat's happening to her!? wat's she trying to prove So sad when a major grand slam holder acts like a spoil kid Shows how inmatured she suddenly become. Like an idiot on the court. Luckily she still has some skills left, if not she'd be a laughing stock. Her sister Venus is better, although is not playing as well as she used to be. Atleast she doesn't act like an idiot though. Can't wait to hear Sharapova grunts in her match afterwards!

QUOTE(kirua_zordick @ May 28 2009, 01:34 PM) I'd prefer Safina over Serena...look back at Serena's interview after the 1st round, she keeps saying dat she's played like a junior or just graded herself as D-...why couldnt she just be grateful with the win and shut up..... She wants everyone to think that if she had played her best tennis, she would totally destroy anyone on court. Really idiotic attitude, feel like b!tch slapping her already.

Why only complimenting Roger? Acasuso played superb in the first and second set! For a person who has been kinda out of action for such a long time, going against one of the best and giving him so much trouble, I think he deserved the props.
Its too bad he couldn't hold his spirits together after Roger came back down from 5-1 in the third set.
Tsonga looks to be dominating Monaco. Don't know whats wrong with Monaco today....

Federer only played well after he was down 5-1 in the 3rd set. Like Bapeon said, those drop shots are really well placed!
I was hoping for Acasuso to come back from 5-1 in the 4th set though, but seems like he has already ran out of stamina to do so. The game where Federer won the match, Acasuso basically just threw all the points away.

Acasuso should have took that bathroom break as well... Federer came back fully refreshed after he went to the toilet.

Federer needs to work on getting less unforced errors though. Those are alot of wasted points. Acasuso played above his own level today, his backhand was phenomenal and his forehand is right at Federer's level early on.

Hoho...
Current no.1 vs Former no.1. I don't remember the last time Hewitt and Nadal played. If today Hewitt can pull off what he used to be, he may actually have a chance.... Gonna be an awesome match to look forward to.

Wow... 8 years ago, I wouldn't thought anyone could utterly destroy Hewitt. At some point in the match, we still did see a little bit of classic Hewitt. Never give up!
Some of the points made Nadal played every inch of what he has. Awesome Hewitt! Eventhough you lost, you deserve the props!
