I waited ... waited and now finally comes .. hopefully in the next 10 hours ... news will flash .....

and looking forward to hold it in my hand "malaysia officlally I phone 16G

hey fren outhere ...

when making the "maths" of us 299 (16 G ) with 2 yrs contracts... unlimited usage of GPRS and 3g data ...( IN USA )

the story goes like this ..

my USA counterpart office mate .. got this infor for me ...

he paid ... yes US 299 for 16G set and contract US 65.00 per month for 2 yrs .. included unlimited usage of data and gprs BUT NOT call time ...

so .. he surf lots of data on the set but limited CALL time.

so all in all he paid US 1859.00 so far ... 2 yrs of usage ...

which is equal to RM 6910.82

AT & T is even more blood sucking compare to our Maxis ...

and if maxis would retail it at RM 2599 16set . with 1 year contract of RM 150.00 per month ...( if with unlimited usage of data )
equal to RM 4399.00

maths show that malaysia is still cheaper to own and use this "I phone "

bro..dun compare la.. US ppl stay there 1 ma.. 1.8k USD is very cheap for everything...

set like AUS or SG set... iphone price around $600 + 2 years contract = around RM2k+ for the 16gb version..they paid everything completely only they sell RM2.7k at GS... meaning the line they are using is free for them...this is what u call cheap compare to maxis.. else how u think ppl at GS can earn??

the reason all these contract based handphone subsidize kick into malaysia is partly due to MNP.
Now all operator want exclusive handset locked to their own network to attract competitor's customer at the same time preventing own customer from switching.

if this iphone ever comes true, the offer definitely is for any maxis customer, regardless of number prefix.

very interesting .. !!! why ppl only compare I phone ... $$$ and not mac book or apple computer ... cos .. for those .. whom are using this is also paying more expensive as compare outside malaysia ...

maybe cos .. mac computer does not have unlock version or jailbreak version .... hahahahahahahahah

interesting ..right ... !! saying this b'cos .. i am an apple user for the last 8 yrs ...

afaik, malaysian mobile operator's call charges are quite cheap compared to other countries. but at the same time, our data charges are still on the high side.

especially in the western side, all the call/sms charges is high, but their data charges is often very affordable.
