QUOTE(JayC75 @ Mar 10 2009, 07:22 PM) overhype again..i don see wat so great with iphone, not to mention the expensive package that tied u down. What is the point of posting inside an iPhone-related thread, when all you have to post are those golden nuggets? Are your WM-related devices growing stale that you had to jump into an iPhone thread and downplay it? As much as this new is exciting to some, I've stated it before, and i'll say it again: This is a futile attempt by Maxis, too little too late. Most if not almost all those who are interested on getting an iPhone have already gotten theirs by other means already, and plan-based iPhone ownership will only hurt this launch, in economic climates like today. The only plus I see out of this deal is that we finally have some sort of aftersale support through authorised Apple-certified technicians for repairs and maintainance-related issues. Also, when the new iPhone launches this June/July, those without any means of getting it other than locally, will be then be able to join in the worldwide excitement of lining up for an iPhone launch.

It's easier to be pessimistic than hopeful.
It's also easier to be a retard than contributive.
In any case, maybe I should just keep things to myself, than helping the unappreciative crowd around here. I've grown accustomed to people here being cynical, but bitterly cynical?
All I see to those doubting are those that either not even planning to get one, but just come in here to stir shit up, or those who are jaded with their device of choice, and grow green with envy at the amount of coverage the iPhone is getting.
Either way, the forums has degenerated into playgrounds for the retarded so I'm not surprised.

I got plenty of friends that are anticipating for the availability of Iphone in Malaysia by Maxis and very interested to get one. But I got a feeling that the package/plans that are going to be offer will disappoint most of them.

QUOTE(stringfellow @ Mar 10 2009, 07:06 PM) Because if any legal implications are taken against them, they are screwed. Whether there is any actual NDA(Non Disclosure Agreement) signed or just agreed verbally, spillage of information like these by an internal staff will trace back to them as source, and may be dealt with penalties like lawsuits or other nasty ramifications. By them remaining anonymous, and by letting other third party spilling them out, this negates any direct linkage to the leak to them, and still provide news to those waiting for this. My sources are not "friends", "brother in law" or the kind. I abhor these cheap gossips and spreading of false rumors, they only generate false hope that ultimately disappoints those who are genuinely waiting for the locally made available iPhones. Finally, after almost 2 years launching and now we got it officially!

i don't even need to anticipate this as a déjà vu, as the typical malaysian attitude will appear shortly after the so-called official launch (even if it is true to begin with).
this short scenario will ensue later...
1. oh finally! after the two agonising years wait, iphone has finally arrive at our shores. no longer i have to worry about the warranty issues (typical malaysian necessity)
2. WTH? i cannot believe that maxis is selling the iphones for so darn expensive. unbelievably blood sucking.... man, this is what i get for living in malaysia where cronyism/corruption/lack of corporate moral fibers (insert whatever is relevant) persists.
3. WTH again? i also have to sign up a contract to fuel this extortionate monthly contract fees?
4. argghhh... forget it. i'm just gonna buy my iphone from a neighbouring country for a much cheaper price. don't think that i need that warranty coverage afterall; just a plain waste of money as i'm pretty sure that apple products are God sent. furthermore since they charge us a premium, a malfunction is very unlikely.

I'm glad there are those who look at this on the positive side, instead on posting gems like "if tomorrow dont have I lol" crap.
@Nokia,
That's typical lah, Malaysian mentality. All noise, but no action taken. If they are interested and serious about the iPhone, they'd already have their iPhones in hand by now.
