been looking around at kingofrims

seems like my choice is either a 17 inch enkei original rims cost ard 2.4k

or a advanti taiwan rims cost ard 1.4k

any advise between ori jap rims and taiwan rims?

a bit skeptical on the taiwan rims as i did some research, seems like quite easy to get bend or dented. but price diff is ard 1k. is it worth it to top up the additional 1k

Proper taiwan rim like advanti is ok (actually, advanti may have some rims produced locally as the brand owner has rim manufacturing plant in malaysia), even the lower range enkei are made in taiwan. For thai rims, look for lenso which undergoes proper engineering.

The problem are those thailand/taiwan made copy designs and replica, the quality of those are questionable.

Are those prices new or used? If new, then those are also Taiwan Enkei (Enkei Tuning) coz prices of Enkei Japan is much higher still!

Honestly, any potholes will bend any rims. Though German/Japanese are better known for lightweight+strength.

If you are on a budget side and you don't drive fast, Taiwanese rims are okay.

I have German TSW rims, hit 1 pothole also bend.

What size first? Usually for that budget you can get Taiwan's original Enkei Tuning but if want Enkei Japan then can only get used ones.

for which size?enkei tuning 18 inch can get below 3k lar..around 2500-2600.
if enkei japan only can get 15 and 16inch

He may still upgrade to 17 without suffering loss of performance if he is willing to pay more for a good quality light rims.

What about enkei japan 18”, how much will this cost?

I don't recommend for Jazz coz the car is small and if to use 17', it's not just because of performance but also due to having to use very thin profile tires hence becoming a bumpy uncomfortable ride.

If new, usually above rm5k for lightweight ones.

What about second hand?

Depends on type, size, and condition. Good ones like Enkei Japan RPF1 will cost 2k or more.

What is the difference in terms of features and quality between enkei japan and rays japan?

As far as I know (anyone can CMIIW) Enkei doesn't make forged type rims to make lightweight rims. They instead use MAT technology which is still cast type rims but with more advance technology so that it can lightweight yet a bit cheaper than forged type. (Normal/traditional cast type rims are heavier and cheaper still). However not all Enkei Japan rims are made using MAT and therefore not all of them are lightweight.

Rays is said to have one of if not the most advanced forged rim manufacturing facility in the world to produce lightweight yet strong rims, hence more expensive. Similarly, not all Rays rims are forged type, they also make cheaper normal cast type rims.

So in general if I were to rank them, Rays > Enkei Japan. If you know watches, Enkei Japan is maybe like Tag Heuer while Rays is like the Rolex of rims. Both are excellent luxury watch brands and both are expensive but of course Rolex is still the king.
