Silent Wheel is much more cheaper. But it can fit an adult hedgehog arh?
*
It can. u nid to get the 12inch wan... But as i said b4, it's really not stable, esp for adult hedgie since they are heavier.

Mine eats twice a day. Very picky eater. Until now can't get the fella to eat the food specially for hedgehogs. The fella prefers RC 34 kitten. To me, the RC smells a lot better, more fragrant than the Hedgehog food.
*
haha..i think all hedgie are super duper picky eater.. Last time my kenken starve himself for 3days, then only started to eat RC.. RC kibbles seem bit more oily, and it smells like alot meat inside..haha..

Wah starve ar? Nowadays I put only 4 pieces of that hedgehog food campur with RC34 and Orion. All he whack habis except hedgehog food. Sure leave 2.5 piece!
*
if he is eating the hedgehog food although it's jus one or 2 kibble, u shud reduce others brand amount and increase the hedgie food bit..

Kaoru, as i know, wood shaving bedding would cause infection on male hedgie.

And, i think pine bedding is not suitable for all small animals.

Not really encourage, from my reading, crystal like cat litter will cause blockage when ur hedgie ingest a bit of it.

Besides that, if ur hedgie is male, the cat litter will stick to the 'thing' also..

Recycled paper cat litter such as BC is much better.

i see thanks alot for the infol, will change bedding immediately. might stick to BC (expensive but reliable...as always) If i use BC need to change everyday oso ka?and how about crystal like bedding tht izzulogy mentioned?
*
crystal like bedding i mentioned in previous post d.

BC u don hav to change everyday..jus pick up the harden poo..then when hedgie poo on BC, can see the color change on the paper pellet. so jus pick it up.. biggrin.gif

Then every 2weeks u change the whole cage bedding lo.. biggrin.gif

yeah..may be bad if ingested.. but frm what i see.. the crystal bits not so small.. quite big oso.. like small rocks.. n since hedgies are picky eaters, i think they will be very careful and the risk ingestion might be quite low, dun u think?
*
sometime hedgie will try and chew new thing/smell... and why you would wan to take the risk even it's only 0.1%? and the most important thing is, there are a lot other much better choices~

QUOTE(Ts-Double U @ May 25 2009, 11:43 PM)
erm can use old news paper as bedding right?
*
Don really encourage, becoz:

1st, malaysia's newspaper really low quality...the ink are low quality.. if ur hedgie pee on it, then the ink melt, then lick on it..u imagine urself la..

2nd, newspaper u really nid to change very very very often... not really suitable to be bedding for hedgie..

3rd, Hedgie will tend to dig dig dig then sleep underneath the newspaper, if u put a lot newspaper, then the hedgie sleeping covered with newspaper, hard to breath ler..

I only use newspaper as bedding when the animal is not get to contact with the papers..but hedgie sleep pee poo walk play on the bedding.. T-T..

oh and what is the cost for the wheel?
*
erm...BC one small pack 6L around rm22.. last how long? erm...it dpeends what size of ur hedgie housing la... BC definitely more exp than wood shaving.

Wheel...Different brand different price. I personally recommend wodent wheel wobust, bit pricey but it's much stable and lasting compare to others. Wobust is rm170++

how bout buy the silent wheel, but only let the hedgie to run on it 4 maybe 5-10 mins a day only.. then the wheel may last longer, and the hedgie still get his excercise! not to mention, he wont get possessed with the wheel until leg bleed oso keep on running!
*
running on wheel 5-10 min perday? it's not really practical.

Everynite u gonna wait until ur hedgie come out and play wheel? u never noe what time he come out..and most hedgie play their wheel at middle of nitez..

5-10min is really not enuf... They can get fatter if only run 5min everyday... T-T

It's one shot money lo.. jus spend once, u use for long term ma.. biggrin.gif

eric: the water bottle looks abit dirty ady..can scrub the inside using toothbrush~
*
erm...anyway, the stain is there since i get it from previous owner. i think is the rusted hook that stained it. It's not inside the bottle, no worry. biggrin.gif

QUOTE(runner999 @ May 26 2009, 06:24 PM)
aiks.... so if i use BC as the bedding... it's that colour? sorry ah... i not yet go buy so dunno how it looks like....

so your red container is litter tray? then the yellow one is for?
*
BC is recycled paper litter.. so it's tat color like recycled paper lo...
The pink one is litter tray, the yellow one is the food tray.. But i had changed the thing in the zoozone. The pic is last time one..I use the colorful cube to replace the blue iglo as hidehouse, smaller and nicer.. Then the food bowl i use another blue one, to match with the fleece color.. biggrin.gif i posted both pic b4..u can go previous page and look for it.

the colourful cube, big enough for adult hedgie? i saw a bigger version (rectangular shape) but afraid that will take too much floor space...

i like zoozone cage but not high enough for wheel... might have to just settle for rabbit cage sad.gif
*
the cube enuf~~ i put some fleece blanket inside..kenken everynite sleep with his leg open wide inside..hhaha... the bigger one really too big..

ya..zoozone1 definitely u cant close if u put the wheel inside..

U go jtl starter kit thread and see la..inside got 2 starter kit package for hedgie..the cage not bad, i hav seen it..suppose wanna get for kenken, but muchan pass me the zoozone together..so i didnt buy at last..

what shampoo is recommended to bath hedgies?
*
I would recommend EarthBath Oat Shampoo. Can prevent dry skin problem. Although bit pricey, but can use for long time, since we only use few drops every time..and only shower hedgie twice a month. Small bottle is RM28.

Using those normal shampoo too often will cause ur hedgie got dry skin prob..

leg terkangkang! so cute...
i went to petshack already.. got another type of rabbit cage... also saw it in pet safari, sunway pyramid... quite common...

i tried to fit the 12" silent wheel in zoozone 2... also cannot close! if u really close it, the wheel probably cannot move..

eric, can help me try something ah? if your silent wheel hang terbalik on the cage, the wheel can move? i thought of hanging the wheel terbalik.... maybe can save some height space.. haha...
*
hang terbalik? erm... for zoozone1 i think cant.. zoozone 2 shud be ok...

actually u don hav to close the cover when u put the wheel in at night..then morning take the wheel out and wash only close lo...
