Anyhow I'm Ipoh born eventhough i didn't grew up there smile.gif

yup... really nice place, taiping too, no that hetic...

C & O .... dealer came to my house...say want to calibrate the yammy for me

instead they brought in the MA silver series Floor stand RS6, ask me "run-in"for them as they will be in KL setting up their showroom in JW Marriot.

Guess waht....... REally ***... lor this time,... kena racun

though still new, on stereo .. it gave incredible soundstage and depth, with high's. mid and Bass very well balanced.
the treble and mid very sweet and quite silky, (very smooth but not that type of dull smoothness) the bass extension..tremendous
wou...on the "Yeh Lai Xiang" Choir presentation, you really can hear different levels male vocals in front and the ladies right at the back but on higher grounds.. and also the Japan Bamboo thing "N-take" right... the last 2 tracks were magnificent with their bamboo placement low high, back and front,(very spacious)
those really hunting for Main Speakers must really give the Monitor Audio RS6 a good test

so i switch the BR2's as rear, centre being aegis (hmm...B&W sold liao) did an auto calibration, Yammy YPAO capture the RS6~ large sub at 40, BR2~Large, 40hz and Aegis center~Large ,60hz.

too bad no Bluray to test but teh overall sound was simply stunning n perfect on DVD's

>>>>> oops..sorree to excited, Wrong Tread<<<<<

Very nice. You already have a hard floor why put the speaker on another hard slab?
*
have tried it on floor alone, but very much prefer the marble slab~~~ really tighten the base and and overall freq
maybe this marble is one of the kind, slightly yellowish, the marble particles are very finely compresses ( when you dissect it, its very smooth unlike other marbles that are loosely composed(very rough) looks very loose, snap up a few pieces for the rest of hifi gear also. smile.gif lucky me

Using Panny BD60 ( at the moment ). Good BD player a bit 'cheapo' & common  smile.gif . Maybe if u want something better & elite then can go for Pioneer BD player. nod.gif

BTW u have got very nice HT set-up! That spk look very expensive! notworthy.gif  Elite spotted! biggrin.gif
*
thanks
Pioneer BD, yeap BDP-52, thats my 1st preference
the speakers are from Monitor Audio Silver Line series RS6 can say slightly abv average only la.

I was at Yammy Kelana Jaya today n they have on display the new bdp 2900. Not for sale though and its 110v they use for demo only. Bloody expensive. Marantz/Pioneer bdp looks way better.
*
for me,i never trust/set foot on another yammy BD(or whatever transprort) those days my yammy LD,1 year kaput, later another yammy DVD after 1 year kaput also. mad.gif ... hmm.gif noway.... not another one( no chance for a hattrick record) Football meh.. haha

QUOTE(ar188 @ Jul 23 2009, 12:40 AM)
dun think its way better than the common panny BDP lor...after you open inside, can see a cheapo Pioneer BD-rom drive as a Transport..  laugh.gif

so much for the elite illusion..  biggrin.gif
*
fully agree on the BDP-51FD but not the BDP-52 the transport very much refined (looks more impressive) smile.gif

Have you guys thought of using media players like WDTV? The PQ is quite the same with BD. Most with DTS 5.1 too.
*
have a dvico too,
like WDHD-TV are for hightech ppl who knows how to download and play around
its a cool gadget, but do check out the thread also, problem on streaming of DTS and no hi-def like DTS HD True-HD/ MA
++advantage mkv playable

ppl who have no PC knowledge wil have disadvantage purchasing, as they have to purchase DATA (movies etc) from shops

Monitor Audio speakers now made in China, like most other brands. Only a few brands still made in their own land.

I've owned BR2 before, loved it. Very good musically. In fact I've considered RS6 before, but very hard to find at that time.
*
yeap the BR2's my main..... enter the RS6as main, now BR2's serving as rear
later get the center then SR,SL hehe

anyone really did a side by side comparison on BD-60 and BDP-52 or BDP-320
from what i gather from Fair
seems that all retailers, be it, panasonic, desa, pioneer ask to go for 52 or 71, 91

what sort of improvements, do we get, and based on price factor, is it worth that extra.
thanks

Edited
Really tested BD-60 with its Plasma and its superb, like i say maybe its the Plasma that really bring out the difference>>>

>>>>The DMP-BD60 has onboard decoding for Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio Essential. That means it can decode those soundtrack formats so they can be played back on almost every HDMI-capable AV receiver. Bitstream output is also supported, if you'd rather the decoding be done in your AV receiver. (DTS-HD Master Audio Essential differs from standard DTS-HD Master Audio in that it lacks decoding for a few legacy DTS DVD soundtracks formats such as DTS 96/24, ES, ES Matrix, and Neo:6. It still decodes all the high-resolution Blu-ray DTS soundtracks.) <<<<

What does it simply means ~~~~ can it play DVD DTS-ES/EX
Thanks

So far I have tried the following legacy DVD:
R1 Star Wars II Attack of the Clones, DD EX
R1 LOTR trilogy extended version, DTS-ES

no problem for BD60. I was surprised that I'm able to send bitstream signal thru HDMI to my AVR. BD60 audio setup all bitstream and didn't use any co-ax. So what actually happened?

anybody have tried Master & Commander: US BD with BD60?
*
QUOTE(anfieldude @ Jul 28 2009, 11:44 PM)
The processing cannot be done in the BD60. However, it can bitstream the DTS-ES/EX codec to you AVR for processing. This is norm for almost all BD players.
*
got it..Thanks

any difference on tis >>>>DTS-HD Master Audio Essential differs from standard DTS-HD Master Audio<<<<
