Sony, bought over Columbia Pictures, try google'ing and find out whether its true or not, that Sony did some special encoding on their Blue Rays Discs and only Sony BD players can decode for better presentation....

same goes for pioneer LX series it needs the Pioneer BD players to maximise the stereo and suround capabilities

So what you are saying that those Blueray DVDs sold locally are all bad?

You say that its too much of a burden for PS3 to run blueray DVD?

What is it called then if not blueray DVD? Green ray?
*
QUOTE(arremie @ Jun 11 2009, 01:12 PM)
Its called bluray disc or BD

DVD is digital video disc.

Got it? tongue.gif

tthks mpyw, 2b frank i'm in the mist of getting a BD player, budgeting around 1k to 2k, can still over shoot to 3k, if the audio quality is good as i can then sell my dedicated CD player Mc'Cormack Prism II for some 3K+ ( That Really makes sense.)

seriously have stopped to be hi-fi audiophile but if BDplayer can substitute audio quality to a certain extent.... i really dont mind... its Home Teather all the way.

so far, think the Pioneer BDP-51FD ( damn good reviews both on video and audio )suits my taste but the internal design.... ala.... damn sickening... or perhaps..... still under my wish list....

So if any one has tested and compared audio quality will appreciated if able topen a few lines.... gracious. notworthy.gif

for audio.....errrrr.....use for normal kitchen listening is ok lar....but for serious stuff....still prefer a dedicated CDP....am using CA Azur 640Cv2 as my CDP....FYI tongue.gif

I think for you case, an Oppo BDP-83 will be better....and get a standalone media player if u need one tongue.gif

haha....good joke
Tvix dah ada la..... did consider Dune oso

i got the BDP LX-52.. should be similar to the 51FD kua... & my review is, it's a real nice shiny black box on my cabinet thumbup.gif

but dunno how to review on PQ & AQ tongue.gif
*
LX-52 think quality lower that 51FD le, using burr brown same as 320......
52 and 320 has Bd live nia

51 shares the same similarity with the renown 71, except it uses lower quality Video dac for component, no effect on HMDI ( same quality as 71)

other bdp? err... didn't check tongue.gif
was kinda determined on pioneer. the pioneer came with punisher warzone & final fantasy VII advent children.. i sold both for RM200 so price came to RM2.4k thumbup.gif

*
wou, bro, that a really good bargain, you sure know your pick,
will go up penang snatch the 52 n take celine dion and david foster haha if couldn't get a bargain in ipoh icon_idea.gif

a check on the specs its everything identical to the 320 but edges a milestone on major differences below thumbup.gif

- Jitter reduction IC
- PQLS Multi surround
- sophiscated insulators for superior vibration resistance
- front aluminium panel
- highest quality parts and capacitors to ensure high quality sound

********************************************

one thing i wanted to ask for quite some time...

does BD live support on (soree soree soree ) pirated BD's

thanks
