cheapest panasonic bd60 player now is the rm900 bd-60 from iamsobloodysick rite?
*
BD-60 for RM900.... guess someone pulling the leg here haha,
maybe just out of frustation or word of mouth just say give 900 oso dont want le... so bad meh the product smile.gif

yesterday just check at panashop its retailing at RM1450.00

they have to order stock, so i tested the BD-30

i ask them put DVD to see the upscaliing effect...demo transformer hook on to few pana full 1080p LCD's

pic looks grainy, colour quite wierd, see for a minute ask the salesman how come like that

He replied... oh........ we are using composite thats y like that
that instant my heart doh.gif rclxub.gif vmad.gif ( never sound out la of course )
i told him this is a 24p BD wor circuits should be very much better ma, he kept quiet, i otomatically oso keep dum la, but my mind inside working adi
visualising my hse pioneer DV-383 DVD use s-video output to RX-V3900 to sony 50" LCD beat the BD-30 and pana LCD FLAT OUT

these people really think we in ipoh from hutan one....

their demo reminds me of people buy a porshe but use in kampong road or rather raff at 40kph oni..... real sickening

but any way biggrin.gif biggrin.gif ..... think already mind set on Pioneer 320 or 52.......
hehe my dealer is bringing in the 320 as demo so see how it goes on a 100"screen

let the receiver do the decoding will bring out much more fuller and nicer sound.....

after all...BD player mostly meant for video and receiver for audio....if you get what I mean...tongue.gif
*
that means i can just get a normal analog multi-channel o/p BDP w/o decoder

but... if BDP cant decode true-hd how can receiver (on what basis) decode true-HD or DTS-HD

thanks

If the receiver doesn't have HDMI, then no choice, unless he upgrades. But I agree, receiver doing the decoding is noticeably better, even technically can be explained by PCM jitter elimination and specific hardware capability.

Receiver also for video, don't forget about the upscaling & de-interlacing (some BDs are only 1080i). And like Reon's chip in Onkyo, you can do many tweaks for video.

guess i am not singing the same melody

To let the receiver do the decoding, you must use digital connection, and for HD audio can only use HDMI, no other choice. This is because the big bandwidth needed to transfer the high bitrate data. To let the receiver do the decoding, the player will send the audio undecoded via HDMI. This is called bitstreaming.

When you see analogue multi-channel out on the player, this simply means the player has internal decoding capablity (decodes to PCM which is still digital) and DAC (convert to analogue). This way your receiver will only act as a power amplifier only.
*
sorry still bit bit confuse

that means, we cant get true-hd sounds even usng analog multi-channel as compared to hdmi

if its true sound differs by how many % as compared to hdmi

thanks soli ar.. ipoh mali slow learner

you will still get true HD/DTS-MA sound via your AMP.. (if your BD player can decode it and send it via Analog to the amp inputs)

the quality will depend on the analog circuits in your BDP and AVR lor and the cables you use.. but it'll probably never acheive the same 100% results of even a cheapo HDMI cable, digital connection..
*
hmm....... you rite truly understand now.... thank you thank you

i did wrong move should have bought the BDP 1st pass thu Yammy 2200 see the overall sound acceptable not...

then only see whether to get the 3900.... hmmm.... still long way to learn,

didn't recall any forumer's put this on debate olso... hmm.gif

I think new one ard RM2000 now....

when launch was RM2,299 or is it 2499??
*
i was looking at 51FD also,
but now have to compare between
BDP-320 one forumer htkaki selling brand new for RM2150.00
BDP-52 was quoted RM2750.00

reason 51Fd unless you want to make use of 7.1 multi-channel out (latest firmware support this already)
- no BD live
- big casing quite empty inside ( the 52 looks more compact inside)
- slow boot uptimes
- 60 to 70 % support pirated DVD, maybe same for BD's
- remote not so nice ( think 320 and 52 better )
- if DVD or BD's jammed and can't come out, have to sent to service center to remove (be very careful if purchase tis set overseas)

i am trying to get the link for you to compare..... tahan 1st ok

the 320 n 52 support various LCD format for tweaking ...be it projection, LCD Plasma haha OLED...???

back to BDP seek icon_question.gif and advice

my set up
Sony 50" LCD
Yammy 3900
BDP >>> shopping around

One Problem but few questions

- LCD take in 1080i and 1HDMI in only
should i

1) set BDP to 1080i do pass tru from 3900 to LCD

2) set BDP to 1080p (24p can ga) from 3900 downscale to 1080i>>> to LCD

3) set BDP to 1080p from 3900 downscale to 720p >>> to LCD

4) will the 720p (progressive) better the 1080i (interlace)

so if BDP 1080p pass to Yammy... let anchor bay downscale to 1080i better that BDP set 1080i pass tru AVR
then very logic i will search for a better quality BDP

thanks
