probably the thermal paste not enuf or too many, lousy contact with GPU core la. U try go RMA, say temp over 105c, i think they can RMA for u if their side also high temp.
*
yup.need a good thermal paste for 4850.otherwise, the temp will raise up quickly.

wow cool core speed  rclxms.gif btw what software you use to check artifacts ?
Try 65%, that would be better.. I wonder why you card is so hot, try to improve your inside casing ventilation and open the case to see if the temp would be better.
*
All using ati tray tools.. spoken too soon, no artifacts at 740 but cant even start crysis benchmark laugh.gif
730 crashed when half-way benching crysis. 720 is stable though tongue.gif

Funny that memory at 1100 is fine.. nothing abnormal yet

Here are some figures

Run #1- DX9 1024x768 AA=16xQ, 32 bit test, Quality: ~~ Overall Average FPS: 34.095
720/1050

Run #1- DX9 1024x768 AA=16xQ, 32 bit test, Quality: ~~ Overall Average FPS: 34.58
720/1100

Run #1- DX9 1024x768 AA=16xQ, 32 bit test, Quality: ~~ Overall Average FPS: 33.47
Default

As you can see, improvement is marginal at best sweat.gif

guys, wanna ask... which will be more important to aim for ? higher core speed or mem speed ??? my mem speed cant seems to go any higher or even at 1100, it will get artifact when scanning with ATItool. doh.gif doh.gif no artifact at 1080. using stock fan though.. idle at 50+C

balance out both, but core will benefit more. But if like u pump over 700 core, it will give less gain, maybe memory bottleneck edi, so u balance both lo.

yes.. i noticed that too ... 700 over core also make not much diff.. zzz
but will it be something to do with the voltage or temp ?

Core > Mem

But if you increase it too much, u need to increase the volts too if not there would not be a differences.

You can do the fan speed adjustments thru CCC, edit the profile with notepad and save it. Im not using any fan for my HD4850 tho tongue.gif

Here's for the bios vmod 1.2v
