Flash the edited bios back to the card. Edit the original bios using Radeon Bios Editor and flash it using AtiWinFlash. You can get them both at TechPowerup.

wow....blardy....i extracted my bios out using gpu-z and loaded the bios into atiwinflash....great....the card died on me....cant even boot up....not even into bios....so i gotta send back to shop and ask for a change...whoever this is flashing shit is fun to play with...think again....better be well prepared that ur card might give up on u vmad.gif
*
doh.gif i did it many times without problems

1. Extract ori bios with AtiWinFlash "save".
2. Open RBE and "load" image.
3. Edit the bios.
4. Open AtiWinFlash, "load" image.
5. Restart pc.

the better is using atiflash in dos mode.low risky than using in windows or if it's doesn't boot in display.boot using onboard vga or pci vga and return flash using atiflash command follow by ur id card in dos
*
better in windows env because if u messed it up u can always reflash it back wink.gif

QUOTE(ben3003 @ Aug 14 2008, 09:24 AM)
anyone tried flashing with sapphire toxic one?
*
how about if u try it first ? brows.gif

QUOTE(ben3003 @ Aug 14 2008, 07:06 PM)
y u download clock ur GPU clock to 600?
*
That's Ati Powerplay in action.. If the card is idle, the clock speed will be throttled down, or in other words 2D mode.

No screenies of the stressing period ?

Me myself managed to get 725/1120 stable with 1.2v bios soft voltmod.

Stress test done with AtiTool 0.27 and artifacts detected process were put at very sensitive scanning.

i'm still using stock cooler as always. haha.....

if i honestly wants to use aftermarket cooler, i would rather get HD4870. xD
*
Im using watercooling on it brows.gif 4870 is just overkill with the DDR5 unless u have too much money to spend.

QUOTE(ben3003 @ Aug 20 2008, 08:58 AM)
uzairi wat card r u using? Mine at 720/1050 will give me  screen turn into black and signal not detected plus sound looping prob.
*
Im using gecube, 725/1125 mhz is the max i can do with it at 1.2v

Yea, at first i can only do 1050 on the mem, slowly i burn in them and increase it slowly with folding.

I use AMD GPU Clock Tool to change the clocks after i reached the 700mhz limit on the core, mem i use Ati's own overdrive.

Guys, want ask ar, when i'm doing artifact scanning, I can hear my PSu making some weird noise.. like whistling or whinning? What does it mean? PSU overloaded? I'm using this huntkey 550w (ya i know.. not a branded or whatsoever). and running a gainward 4850 golden sample.

the sound only comes when I start the artifact scanning, happens in both ati tray tool and ati tool.
*
That's the sound from ur gc if iinm.

QUOTE(anep @ Aug 21 2008, 12:49 AM)
able to OC my gc at 690/1183 using twin turbo.. but donno stable or not.. OC using CCC auto tuner.. how to test stability? i play GRID ok je..
so can i be on the list???
*
Use AtiTool 0.27 to check if its stable or not with the artifact scanner.

No need i think, just clock it with you Ati Overdrive would do since it is still within CCC's limit.

can clock through CCC aite? neway which one better? amd gpu clock tool or just CCC? i clock mine using CCC onli..
*
AMD GPU Clock Tool is used to oc the card to surpass the CCC limit at 700mhz core and at 1200mhz for the mem

QUOTE(ben3003 @ Aug 22 2008, 12:46 AM)

becos u din download the display driver lolz...

Added on August 22, 2008, 8:00 ammust download separately.

That one applies to vista only or together with xp ? hmm.gif

QUOTE(celciuz @ Aug 22 2008, 09:31 AM)
Hi, after observations I'm very sure the sound is coming from the PSU. I've found a few other cases on the internet. One of them is using a CM 700W PSU with 9800GX2 and he has the noise as well.

I don't know how to describe the noise but very much similiar to this, which I assume is probably the same case.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vSrf9Jh_8fk

Taiko here who OCed their 4850, what kinda PSU are you guys using? Any noise when stressing the GPU to max?

ps. any sifu free can visit my thread, http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=772911

Thanks a lot.

EDIT :
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

When loading I mean situations like this... =/ When GPU is up to 99-100% but I don't think the card is overheating or something yet right?
*
That means your psu is at their limits already which is not good for long term sweat.gif

QUOTE(D-Zire @ Aug 22 2008, 09:32 AM)
yea must download the driver seperately for vista 32bit....ati webmaster was half asleep when he post up the links...=(
*
Ive read about the problem, iinm it only affects vista right ? hmm.gif

using twin turbo? open or close case?

Im using Dangerden Maze4 GPU.. brows.gif

QUOTE(ben3003 @ Aug 24 2008, 12:44 AM)
run atitool artifact scanning for at least 6hrs or Furmark for 6hrs see ur card got hang up or not. If furmark can pass, i think gaming also no prob la. Furmark run 100% GPU load, stress ur gpu until the max like how u squeeze the orange for its juice lolz.
*
I did mine for like 30 minutes and i run the GPU folding client, much better to test the card's stability and do a community project. Wanna join ? brows.gif
