i think you guys have to also look at rapidshare also. Their serverload is super high with all the illegal accounts and people sharing accounts.

It like how piracy is killling music industry. You use their resources with illegal accounts and sharing which doesn't benefit them. It ends they they can't support the surge of demands financially. So, they have to do this to control the user.

This step will help to reduce download. People don't just download blindly anymore. Come guys, anyone who download 10gb per day, do you actually get to watch all the movies or games or music?

Also, some of the steps like auto delete files by non-premium users are all indication of rapidshare fighting back to those non-premium users.

So, who is to blame when rapidshare go down? You think similar thing won't happen to megaupload and others if you continue to buy illegal accounts and share account with friends?

Sadly to say this is what most undeveloped country people's mindset...short vision. Only look at what is in front of them. I am sure I will get some flame but that's okay. When you GROW-UP, you will know the real world of business.

true indeed... but 2.6gb limit for a day is too much. 5gb should be fine like the old time...

yeah, i agree also 2.66 is kinda extreme too. Hopefully, once they reduce the illegal accounts and gain back some sales, they can afford to increase this. I am sure they will do it if people would pay for their account legally.

Their serverload is superhigh, of course, it's no 1 filesharing services but it doesn't have anything to do with illegal accounts. Mind to elaborate what illegal accounts mean? Are you referring to those rm20 non-authorized accounts? Let me get this straight. Rapidshare have points reward that can be converted to new 1 month account and those accounts generated from premium users isn't in control of Rapidshare. Generated accounts can either be given away or sell (whichever the premium account holder wish), if it's really illegal and causing them to lose billions of potential cash, rapidshare would have terminate the points reward already. Although Rapidshare didn't say in clear text that sharing accounts is allowed, it do say that you can use it as long as it's not downloading from the same IP at the same time, wasn't that allows sharing? Yes!

What do you think majority of files hosted on Rapidshare are? only 1% (maybe more or less) are legal stuff. Ppl just won't share legal stuff on Rapidshare and expect someone to buy premium accounts to download their files, am I right? The rest of the above statement is utter bullshit, see my 1st reply.

Why reduce downloads? As the premier filehosting/filesharing services, it should have more downloads, not less, less means ppl will switch to other filehosting/filesharing services.

That only apply to anonymous uploads. Collector's account (which is NOT premium) are also not effected. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Rapidshare themselves. If being the no 1 filesharing/filehosting services means to limits premium accounts holder usage, then it'll go down straight to the drain. With megaupload, even though they didn't allow account sharing, but you still can generate a premium resumable link(s) for your friends to downloads, it's been going down for years and what's more megaupload offers unlimited downloads, are they down? why can't Rapidshare be the same?

You think only undeveloped country ppl think like that? All over the world is shitting Rapidshare for the move. Does Rapidshare looks what's behind of them? If yes, they won't do this to their premium users. If they look far beyond, bandwidths will be cheaper (as gigs are available), hdd will be cheaper, so why can't give privileges to premium users more than non-premium? You sure get flames as you're the one that didn't grow up. Grow up kiddo, do you forget the quote "Customers is always right?"

Whatever it is right now, I'm using my MU premium (that lasts till 2010..lol) and my netload.in for HD stuff now since my rs bandwidth is almost gone for the day..

only customer who buy direct from for RS n authorized reseller have a right to complaints. People who bought account
from unauthorized seller dont have a right, since ur money didnt go to RS to help they maintain the cost of their server.

So please, dont b****ing about "customer is always right", when u only pay rm20 to unauthorized seller.. seriously, i also dont like their new rules.. but at the same time, i dont think im in place to complaints either... thats what i call "grow up kiddo"...

This all about bzness strategy was all being planned by RS..

If u noticed, RS was announced about their upgraded servers to higher capacity and bandwidth not long time ago..early this year if not mistaken..as a result, they granted 10GB download bandwidth per day to all their PREMIUM users..this really a good news to us..by doing this, uploaders and downloaders are greedy uploading/downloading files to/from their servers..more and more stuffs was stored in their servers and this was great profits to rapidshare itself and for us..

months back, a new IP rules is being implemented by them to avoid accounts sharing among users but I can see it was failed to tackle the problems..at the time when their's servers fully with very nice stuff, now they make a new rules which will definitely an advantages for them..users got no options but to stick with them since there was number ONE files hosting which contains very good/latest movies stuff etc offered compare to others..2.6GB/day is very less for most of us..without being asked, users will stop sharing accounts among them and for extreme downloders might have more than one accounts to enable them to download more stuff..this is double profits for Rapidshare..

not really an advantages for them, but right now for sure people still gonna stick with them for a few months. But it not gonna take long before the uploader start shifting their hosting. Sooner or later, Rs will lose most of their customer...

from what i see, RS just digging their own grave. I bet till now, they already get billion of emails complaining about their new rules...

but most of them got no option to redeem points to New accounts as what RS offer atm, this is where the attraction takes places...extend their account maybe yes...the whole system makes them running well in their bznes..but i'm pretty sure their competitors will see this as an opportunity and maybe we can see some new changes on the other party sooner or later..

new accounts is useless for uploader anyway with 2.6gb limit. N dont forget megaupload also have a rewards point system. Plus not all uploader upload their file for the sake of points. Some of them upload the file for the sake of sharing only.

like i said, people will start shifting sooner or later.. it just a matter of time. Because that how internet works..

Using 15 threads I only get 80 KB/s. Tried all mirrors also same.
Reset modem get all kinds of IP also same.
Damn TM, they must really be targeting RS.

maybe because u download too much thing, so RS is limitting ur bandwith, how much u download in a day?

i just downloaded around 800-900mb and my speed dropped from full speed to 3-5kBps , changing ip doesnt works..
