I am downloading now with streamyx. IP is 60.x.x.x. My account is 1 mbit. Downloading at 106KB/s. I think that's like 95% of my connection speed. So, no complain for me.

i think 50gb limit now... cause i see i still have 50gb left for d/l

edit: sorry, my mistake. 50gb is for 5 days. So, 1 day is 10GB.

i am downloading at full speed. Over 100k. It's not rapidshare cause I also have this kind of problem. Blame it on streamyx. I sometimes get very slow speed at home. But when I try in office streamyx line, it's so fast...


I agree also...60.48.x.x IPs usually give good speed. 124.x.x.x also sometimes good speed. Worst IP is 60.53.x.x. I usually redial when I get 60.53.x.x.

i think you guys have to also look at rapidshare also. Their serverload is super high with all the illegal accounts and people sharing accounts.

It like how piracy is killling music industry. You use their resources with illegal accounts and sharing which doesn't benefit them. It ends they they can't support the surge of demands financially. So, they have to do this to control the user.

This step will help to reduce download. People don't just download blindly anymore. Come guys, anyone who download 10gb per day, do you actually get to watch all the movies or games or music?

Also, some of the steps like auto delete files by non-premium users are all indication of rapidshare fighting back to those non-premium users.

So, who is to blame when rapidshare go down? You think similar thing won't happen to megaupload and others if you continue to buy illegal accounts and share account with friends?

Sadly to say this is what most undeveloped country people's mindset...short vision. Only look at what is in front of them. I am sure I will get some flame but that's okay. When you GROW-UP, you will know the real world of business.

yeah, i agree also 2.66 is kinda extreme too. Hopefully, once they reduce the illegal accounts and gain back some sales, they can afford to increase this. I am sure they will do it if people would pay for their account legally.

yup, i agree..it about the balance between good and bad. RS gain a lot of popularity due to all the illegal traders and I think they know it. But not taking extreme measures to eliminate it because they know this will affect their business greatly.

it's definitely problem from your side. Rapidshare have very fast trunk link and they never cap premium user's speed. If you have a broadband connection that is working properly like jaring broadband, you will get max speed your broadband can provide. So, blame it on your own line or router or modem or PC and so on.

I am guessing they are trying to do something to reduce those who buy illegal accounts. Those who stopped buying RS, you go buy MU but is it also illegal accounts generated by points like RS? If yes, then it's a matter of time MU start doing something similar as well. I mean, if I am RS, I will say.."go ahead and change to our competitor, we don't need you anyway cause we don't make money from you and you are using our bandwidth"....if you know what i mean.
