And congrats again EchoB. You got it just in time to cover for me while in the US! Oh, and if you're on MSN, will tell you about your duties.

hey guys, i'm in need of good suggestions. currently looking for a new guitar. butdget about 2k, give or take a few hundred. thing is, i'm not too sure wat kind of genre i wanna go into.. so, i'm not too sure what to get. all i know is..i want my guitar to have
25.5" scale and a 42mm nut.

really confused about wood choices now..and am wondering what kind of wood would be best for both clean and dirty?

as for the rest, i've made up my mind on no trem, and a conservative shape. anyone out here has any suggestions? thank you soooo much

If you have no idea what genre you want to play, it's a little hard to recommend.

Yeah, now that you mention, a Les Paul would be the best fit. Epi LP Standard should be below 2k.

so no thin necks, no chunky necks, no LP
then get the LTD H, MH series. their necks arent flat, its a thin U neck and normal shape that fits any genre
