Hi all Proton Saga owners. May I know how is the FC of Proton Saga after your free service. Its because I was considering to buy either Proton Saga 1.3 Auto M Line and Perodua Viva 1.0 Automatic (Non premium). How much would it cost to pump full tank and how many kilometers would it last until the last bar? It would be better to let me know both manual and automatic. Thanks in advance.

first of all, one is 1.3 n another is 1.0..

second, one is proton n another is perodua..

third, one is sedan n another is hatchback..

its very diff if u ask me...

juz identical in terms of price only sweat.gif

ok basic answer for ur question..

1. auto fc more hi than manual
2. 1.3 a bit more fuel consume than 1.0
3. saga got more bootspace than viva
4. cant tell much bout the actual fc for the saga as its juz barely how many months in the market.. juz wait till someone oledi drive like 20k-30k mileage then we can tell how much fc it goes biggrin.gif

question for all saga AUTO owner
is any of your car need to heat up the car until hot enough before the car will change gear??
for example : the heat indicator have 5.....need to have 3 before the car will change gear...if not, the car will just keep on that gear until it's hot enough thn it will change gear.....anyone??

Check ur gearbox fluid level. If not enough fluid then ur gearbox will have difficulty shifting gears. Worst will cause wear and tear.

guys, my current mileage is around 1250++km and i have about 2 bars of fuel left with traveled about 220km and previously i had 5 bars. I am not sure about my fc but i have a feeling that my fc rises after my 1k service.before my servis my fc was 0.26cent per km. I dont think i will get that value this time. I used shell helix plus 4L 15W/50 for my service. Is this actually good?sorry. i do not have much knowledge about car but i wan to learn.any comment?

actually, higher CC car doesnt mean that it will use more petrol. Please dont understand it wrongly.
not necessary 1.0 viva consume lesser petrol than 1.3 saga.
not necessary auto consume more petrol than manual.

For petrol consumption, basically depends on your driving style.

It will change. You just rev higher a bit, do not scare about the engine sound. Once it get change to gear 2, it just drive like normal. I usually don't do that, just drive with gear 1 for a short distance, even without reaching temp bar 3, it will change the gear automatically. If yours still continue won't change the gear until you reach temp bar 3, you better take it for a check.
Well, your car temp will rise quite fast from 1st bar to 3rd bar. It is recommended to gradually increase your speed and temp rather than rev it from cold state.

it is kind of hard to roughly guess your FC with just 5 bars and 2 bars left after 220km.
The best way to rate ur FC is by filling in a full tank. (meaning, the lever flipped!)
Later, maybe after 100km, fill the tank again until the lever stops itself.
Whatever amount you filled the second time, should be divided by the distance you have travelled.

The BLM norm so far is 13-14 km per litre. roughly around 20 24 sen per km.
This is smart driving. 80-100kph with RPM no more than 4k on a normal drive.

BLM has a 40-litre capasity with constitutes around RM108.
So far, mostly owners say it goes all the way around 390-420km before it starts to blink.
Even then, you will have roughly around another 45km before you need to start worrying about running on fumes!
I have been there. i know.

As it is now, i see more Auto owners are complaining about higher FC than those on Manual.

Thanks a lot for those info. Actually, I might get my first car as to travel from Point A to Point B. Anyhow, I doesn't care about hatchback cars or sedan cars. Its just mainly for me to get from Point A to Point B with minimum spending on fuel. And the budget range is between RM39k to RM40K. So I had two choices between a Proton Saga 1.3 auto and Perodua Viva 1.0 auto which somehow both price are similar. There is pros and cons on choosing a car. So must choose wisely as this car might be use for a long period until I graduate from university and work. Thanks alot for all the info. I really appreciate it.

It is recommended that from a cold state, do not rev your engine more tha 2k rpm. Recommended only. Honestly I have yet to see any damage to the engine for 2 year liao

I may sound anti Saga BLM... BUT
I bought the saga and received the car in February 2008
Solid White AUTO
Nothing to complain except for the FC
Proton lied with their claimed FC..
My FC before fuel price hike RM30 - 180KM
after fuel price hike RM30 - 120KM combined 50-50 urban/hiway
My advice.. DONT buy SAGA BLM AUTO if FC is your main consideration..
As for manual BLM... I don't know...

Depends on how you drive the car dude.

I'm able to get RM20 for 100+ KM after petrol hike.
