i'm not pro.. but I can help you abit..

yes it will compatible.. if your vga don't support the native resolution of the 22" which is 1680x1050..

the monitor will still help you scale upon the resolution you set in the windows.. hope that is clear for you.. : D

Those 20" ones are quite rare nowadays... being superseded by 22", price-wise.  tongue.gif

The comparison made using outdated monitor, such as ViewSonic VG1930wm & Samsung 931BW

Most of the 20" ones actually has the same native resolution as 22" ones, that is 1680x1050. wink.gif

First, make sure you have the latest drivers.. nod.gif You also may need the latest BIOS too.. unsure.gif

Then try using Entech's PowerStrip to setup a custom resolution of 1680x1050.. hmm.gif

Then I guess you can download movies that are 1080p.
like Miyori_no_Mori_[AVC-AAC][1080p][47951675].mkv

You can buy a 21.6" or 22" with that budget since you are into watching movies (certainly no way you can buy a 24" with <750 budget)... And yeah at 640x480 the screen will stretch (unless you set your games to widescreen resolutions)...  icon_rolleyes.gif

Wow. It is too complicated and advanced for me. I'm still contemplating whether to buy this old model of 24" Acer AL2423W or not. It's really NOT a popular LCD. But I just hate viewing angle of a TN panel.

Thanks anyway.

Hello fellow gamers. some of you might be seraching the right LCD for your game. Well i think i found 1 for u the LG2252TQ a 22" LCD with 10,000:1 contrast (also availabe in 19")

The most interesting part is not the 10,000:1 contrast ratio, but it function to view 4:3 without distort image (eg:NFS:Carbon does not support widescreen resolution so u will see a kancil look like a limo in that game) but this monitor u can set to 4:3 or 16:10 ratio (the 2 side of the screen will go blank but will NOT distort your image)
Those lowyat shop didn't knew got such technology when i go there buy that day.....swt...

Nah.... don't trust those "dynamic" contrast like 10,000:1 ratios... Depending on application, it can really screw up the image. brows.gif

As for the 1:1 scaling for 4:3 on 16:10, please note that you can set this from your NVIDIA Control Panel, can use on ANY widescreen... Requires DVI connection though.. wink.gif
