If you are a fan of Jim Lee, then you will know who this guy is. ^^
![]() Pic from dccollectors.com Grifter bust from DC Direct for 2012. The Justice League's 'equivalent' to The Avengers' Iron Man. Minus cocky playboy attitude and lots of money and genius engineering mind. But he is like a Cyborg. ![]() |

QUOTE(zapirwin @ Feb 14 2012, 11:28 AM) Don't like it at all. The details are there. But after a few months or years. The colors fade off and in our climate. It become sticky! Maybe it is just me. So far I only have one and decided never to get another. And also its standing pose turned Michael Jackson's Smooth Criminal after some time. |

I have both Kotobukiya PVC+ABS pieces, as well as polystone pieces.
Their ArtFX series are mostly PVC+ABS. ABS is the hard like plastic, like the one used for the Playstation 2 console shell. My ArtFX Supergirl 1/6 statue, ArtFX Catwoman 1/6 statue and even my ArtFX Star Wars 1/6 Snap Fit statues are fine. The Star Wars statues are almost 10 years old already. No stickiness on these statues. No cracks, colours haven't faded. Except for ArtFX Jango Fett statue's jet booster fire. The sculpted flames have a flat piece PVC cover at the bottom. This piece, perhaps due to the contact to the soft vinyl of the flames, leaked oily substance over time. I have sinced pryed and popped them out. The PVC piece by itself has been left on a cupboard for more than 3 weeks now. No more oily residue coming out of it. My ArtFX Jim Lee Batman PVC statue is generally ok too. Please bear in mind it's already 8 years old. The cape is a bit sticky. But not a big issue. Other than that, everything is fine. No fading. Even Hot Toys also had their share of problems for some of their plastics. The Batman Dark Knight figures had oily substance leaking from the costume. Hot Toys' Comedian also had similar problem on the costume. Some collectors have advised to remove certain parts(plastic) of the costume, avoid contact with other incompatible plastic parts to avoid the oily issue. My NAMCO Tekken 5 Gashapon mini figures also have a bit of stickiness to them. I just wash them with ordinary soap every once in a while. aiyo ARH...dunno lar bout them, I feel like their 'schtick' of making mythological statues is kinda played out by now and they haven't really reveal anything new lately. Still waiting for the Valkyrie piece to get painted.
I really hope they shock everyone by making a George Washington on Warhorse piece. I would totally buy that. .. and OMG look at dat Diana.... if DCD commission an entire line just to make all the ladies in that picture I would BUY EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM Simply getting the Thor this week so Shiok probably will be in stock couple of weeks from now. |

It came off as a bit of surprise for Adam himself.I really hope they shock everyone by making a George Washington on Warhorse piece. Not sure about a G.Washington n warhorse, but a Napolean on warhorse like this, I would get from ARH. ![]() |

Kotobukiya was good with the star wars 1/6 snap kits years back, but it's dumb of them to release a whole new series in different scale eg. 1/8, 1/10 ... shooting themselves in the foot. ![]() |

It's a new series that started quite recently. The ArtFX + (plus) series is 1/10.
From what I gathered online, the Japanese collectors like their stuff at smaller scale. Anyhow...... Erick Sosa, sculptor for Kotobukiya's Fine Art series posted photos of Kotobukiya Fine Art Spiderman as it was supposed to be positioned. The one featured at Toy Fair is angled incorrectly. ![]() ![]() More pics here. http://www.statueforum.com/showthread.php?t=125173&page=3 |
