Quick question guys: What do you think of Bowen and Sideshow statues? Compare
Would you continue collecting Bowen statue even there is a lot of Sideshow statues in hand.

Bowen has its good points... consistent pose, colorful and similar quality/scales for display. Bad is kinda boring... no sexy/ x-factor and less variety.

Sideshow is like rojak, got everything from small to big... inconsistent quality.. hehe... good and bad.

Bowen is now doing many remakes. Collectability (value) wise, its not so high unlike the earlier ones. As for Sideshow, their ranges are very diverse. Both has different scales but Bowens are quite similar to SS dioramas in terms of size.
I still have Bowens of my favourite characters - some museum poses are iconic IMO. Sideshow has more mises and hits nowadays to me.

I had my fair share of bad paint jobs from Bowen Designs and SideShow. But, they are still minor.

I prefer SideShow more, as they have more dynamic poses instead of museum poses. They also offer more variety as in LSB, 1:1 busts, PF and the likes. If you like obscure characters, Bowen is the one making them.

I have more SideShows than Bowens. I would have had 4 Bowens up to now. Marvel Girl, Jean Grey, Cyclops Modern.......Emma Frost Modern would have been my 4th, but I missed out on that.

Also, since SideShow is now making DC characters, my focus has shifted to DC more than Marvel properties. The movie stuff still interest me like the Mark VII and Scar Jo PF though......

I always liked this costume for Wasp. It's my favourite. Very nice sultry pose too.
Unfortunately for me, it's a website exclusive.

If local retailer/SG retailer willing to order on our behalf through Bowen Designs website, I think it is not a problem. Some people ask for help from overseas boardmembers at statuemarvels.com ( a very pro Bowen Designs message board whereby Randy Bowen himself interacts regularly).

That wasp piece is much much much more appealing compare to the classic outfit.. Smore its not mass produced, surely the quality will be better than your average Bowen piece..

Sigh.. so many pieces.. so little money.
