Bowen is now doing many remakes. Collectability (value) wise, its not so high unlike the earlier ones. As for Sideshow, their ranges are very diverse. Both has different scales but Bowens are quite similar to SS dioramas in terms of size.
I still have Bowens of my favourite characters - some museum poses are iconic IMO. Sideshow has more mises and hits nowadays to me.

Koto is still a pass for me. Altho there are some nice statues that tempted me, still have to hold back. Still worry about the paint. Sigh, I'm only staying with Sideshow now....decided to sell Bowen

For me, I'm still eyeing Kotobukiya products. Because in terms of paint jobs, their record for their bishoujo series is stellar. They had their spotty disappointments with some of their previous statues. But lately, the latest one I got from them, Collossus Danger Room Fine Art is very good. So, I'm holding out to them.

For the Bowen ones, I only like the more dynamic ones. Not into museum poses.

Ok, I haven't had the time to take care of my Koto Colossus, and Bowen Cyclops. Busy with work for clients. You can check out the paint jobs on Colossus from statueforum.com collectors 1st. Cheers.

Another example, Kotobukiya's DeadPool X-Force variant. Crisp and neat paintjob.

Nodaskip posted this. It is said this is a Adam Hughes's Lara Croft/Tomb Raider statue design. Word is going around that this design was not chosen, but made way for this.

I quite like the Koto Sentinel series and the Deadpool. Deadpool was quite spot on & unusual pose. As for the Sentinel series, I was hooked on Jim Lee's X Men back in the 90s and it makes a good companion pc to SS's Sentinel dio.

I hope SS can re-look at earlier Dios, why they are such great pcs cause the latest Dark X Men dio just not there...IMHO

I hope they sculpt it better this time. The last time SS tried to sculpt J.Scott Campbell style, we ended up with that Emma Frost PF.

So far, D-Boy's sculpt of Campbell's Danger Girl and McFarlane Toys's versions were the best translations into 3D, imo.

ThunderCats line is dead

Received a refund check back in the mail today from HardHero.

RE: Refund of Deposit for Mumm-Ra AP

We are enclosing a refund check for the deposit paid on your pre-order of the Mumm-ra statue.

Due to the ongoing market conditions (with no improvement in sight) ,we have decided to cancel future production at this time. Many retailers are no longer offering collectible statues to their customers, while others have left the industry all together.

Thank you for your support and patronage over the last 14 years; we wish you and yours every success in the changing economy.

Best Regards,

Rob Potts

It is man, companies going down, left and right.... however it is a great time to start a small company
Think about it, Bowen doing smaller and smaller runs, Sideshow, releasing only 2 characters for their DC License, and it has almost been a year since the announcement....Sideshow sculptors that otherwise would never have time to do their own thing are now doing personal projects, and tons of model kits... I myself used to have 6-8 people working for me, now there's 4 of us, still plenty busy thank goodness, but you never know.-----Zkulptor
