True, you need a lot of space for 2 cards but fortunately, my casing is big enough for them. What i'm afraid of is the heat generated. My single R4870 if running without fan speed hack can easily hit 80~82C during idle. After applying the hack the temperature going down to 40~60 range (from idle to full load).

Not fanless, it is a reference card with reference cooler. 80C is the normal temperature for 4870 without fan speed hack. I wonder why ATI has such low fan speed set on default. By increase the fan speed to 55, the temperature can be reduce to 40++ only.

i don't think so, because crysis still unable to run smooth on 1920x1200 (24" LCD) resolution.

for fps games, yes...
real strategy n rpg games, 4870x2 will perform fine at 1920x1200...even 2560x1600

mmm issit the 4870x2 not support in catalyst 8.7, cant seem to detect the card, only working in catalyst 8.8 (beta)...i didn't load from the CD

use driver from the given disc, it seems 8.7 isn't officially support 4870x2

very nice lor, my PSU not even can give me boot up screen... 650w really can't handle it.

guy if you take out those 6pin and 8pin pci-e connector, will the screen pop up msg about you have not connect the power for the card?

if run with 1 connector alone, red colour text warning screen will appear , 650W can't handle , luckily upgrade to 1000 W hehe
