Need some help to setup DD-WRT vlan tagging on TP-Link TL-WR1043ND & TP-Link TL-WDR4300 for UNiFi.

KLseet only provide DD-WRT guide for TP-Link TL-WR941ND, tried following that guide, but with no success on both routers.

Any help is greatly appreciated if someone could provide some simple guide on how to setup DD-WRT on WR1043ND & WDR4300 to connect to UNiFi & HyppTV.
Some screenshots will be extra helpful. notworthy.gif

Then how does KLSeet use his TP-Link TL-WR941ND (with DD-WRT firmware) to connect to UNiFi?
He mention in his guide, can connect to UNiFi, the only thing that doesn't work is IPTV.

Hi Shawty, did you manage to make it work for vlan tagging on 500 and 600 for both internet and IPTV? I recently bought 1043nd v2 and read through details on klseet websites too. Found out that it only works for internet (500) and not for the IPTV.. have not try myself to flash it to DD WRT yet.

Nope.
I couldn't even get Vlan tagging for internet (500) to work. sweat.gif

I'm using OpenWrt now.

Wanted to try OpenWRT but the trunk version for 1043nd v2 does not comes with GUI interface by default. Need to manually include. Not so expert in command line ><

PS: I dunno how to revert back to original TP link firmware for OpenWRT too

You don't have to be an expert.
Just use PuTTY to run the command lines according to this page: http://wiki.xinchejian.com/wiki/Install_Op...WR703N#GUI_Luci
Ignore the router used in that page, the command lines is what's important.

Remember that you have to be connected to the internet to install LuCI GUI.

Reverting back to original TP-Link firmware from OpenWrt is much easier compared to DD-WRT, you just have to flash back to stock firmware from OpenWrt, no command lines needed.

After 6 hours of headache, finally able to make it work on both internet and IPTV.. the tricky part is the the port switch for 1043nd v1 and v2 are totally different. Figure out the correct settle for 1043nd V2 rclxms.gif tongue.gif biggrin.gif thumbup.gif

Tell me if you need my settings. By the way, I found that not much setting to set on OpenWRT. It more on package that we need to add on to OpenWRT?

Sorry, its OpenWRT. smile.gif

What I mean there is the hardware for the port switch is different for V1 and V2 in VLAN based on OpenWRT wiki. Refer to this link: http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/tl-wr1...ports.for.vlans

PS: HyppTV and Wireless working fine but not wired LAN, not sure where I set wrong..
Update: I'm reverting back to TP-link original software until I have time to figure out the right setting.

oh.. well, after few day testing. I manage to deploy dd-wrt to my router. Thanks for guide links here and here thumbup.gif

IMO, there are some case u need take note before update firmware to dd-wrt.

At first, if u can't find your original firmware for d'link, try it at Taiwan d'link official website (I have clarified with Unifi customer service).

second, in case of emergency mode, if u see "failed to upload image... bla bla bla" or "internet explore can't found the page.. bla bla bla", It's might due to your dd-wrt download version not supported or try other browser (in my case, my IE 9 failed but chrome success).

After all, follow the procedure to setup dd-wrt thumbup.gif

It seems like you manage to get OpenWRT work with DIR-615 G2.
I couldn't and I had tried with IE and Firefox, yet with Chrome.

So far, I had tried to upload the OpenWRT Firmware as KLSeet's Guide in the following link.
http://klseet.com/index.php/dir-615-g1/dir...1-flash-process

Any idea?
I had tried many nights, yet no luck.

It depends on the chip. Atheros (like what TP-Link TL-WR941ND uses) does support 3 digits and you can enter these numbers directly into the DD-WRT web interface.

I'm assuming a differences in firmware/hardware revision requires a change in procedure to get it working. I don't have any TP-Link units so I cannot confirm.

I can confirm that it is possible to get it working for both 500 and 600 on DD-WRT but you'll need to use custom/modified switch drivers. More details here if anyone is interested: http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=86919

Anyone has successfully configure their TP-link WDR-4300 with DD-WRT? Mind to share?

Ive tried accordingly to KLsheet /Rizvan guideline but to no avail, the WAN wont connect. Tried Open-WRT and found no GUI and spent hours on offline LUCI instsllation due to no internet , solved with WinSCP and putty.

Downloaded 3rd party Ofmodemandmen open wrt, it works great with both IPTV and Internet, but the WIFI signal worst than original TP firmware no matter how i adjusted the wifi settings.

Generally after brief test on these firmwares wifi strength, DDWRT wifi signal is great, openwrt worst, original good.

So if possible i would like some help from you guys who successfully configured your WDR4300 with DDWRT. thank you
