Guys, what's the common software you install on your E71. Since the phone is still new, hard to get the compatible software.
Thanks.

QUOTE(Seaedge @ Jul 25 2008, 02:43 PM) i read the review from GSMarena... seems they like it very much except the camera part... Yeah..even CNet Asia Review gave 8.7/10 + Editor's Choice for this phone..and a review also state that even though the picture's details cant beat N95 details, it's color is more original than the N95 one..so its still not bad though..i dun mind camera since this is more into business phone... And i juz installed a software called skyecaller, which allows a full screen caller's picture to appear during call and sms (both in coming and outgoing). It is quite nice in my opinion. But it cost me EUR9.++ (RM40+) after 15% discount. |

Errr.. why Nokia remove some of the special characters on the keyboard like underscore (_), percentage (%), etc. What a waste... still prefer my old E61 keyboard... oh well, could it be E71i soon...?
But... after browsing a few sites, the special characters are there for Europe version...when I play with demo set, the special characters are not there... This post has been edited by dgtel2: Jul 26 2008, 02:27 AM |

Held the E71 today for the first time and just love the form factor.....it's so thin and fits my land like a glove. The metal surface is also very appealing.
Gonna get it real soon. Black keys one look much nicer, lah.....the white face one i hear is coming next month. Nokia Careline centre in 1-Utama is listing the E71 at RM1,999. The salesman there insisted those sold at Low Yat at RM1730 are AP sets, though I think he was bull-shitting so as to get customers to buy from his shop. So there appears to be 3 pricing tiers, which i have split into 3 classes. (Class 1) Original from Nokia Careline centre (most expensive) at RM1,999 (Class 2) Original from Avaxx/Zitron/authrorised sub-dealers at RM1,700++ (Class 3) AP sets from any Tom-d***-Harry retailers at RM1530 to RM1650 is this a correct assessment? btw, VS.com - a shop located on the top floor of Low yat Plaza - claims to be an original Nokia seller at the Class 2 level. Is it? |

Well Afaik, there are actually 2 tiers; one which is the ori from avaxx or zitron which cost could reach between 17xx to 19xx and the other is from ap company which is in the range between 14xx to 15xx.

Becarefull when buyin AP set, most of them didnt support Chinese Character natively. AP co. will flash another firmware to make with work. Because of this thing, I had to cancel 2 deal in lowyat forum...Money sent twice to 2 different AP seller and refunded.. In the end, spend RM100+ more to get a set from Dynamic Multimedia. My set come with Chinese symbol on keypad and support Chinese character natively... This post has been edited by mikelanding: Jul 27 2008, 01:26 AM |

I'm currently using E70 and now drooling over this new model. Wonder if it's easy to find the cover or sillicon cover for this model (to avoid scratch on the body) coz my E70 very hard to find the plastic cover (never found silicon cover till now)

It also depend on how popular (or how many) E71 can sell to consumer. The bigger the quantity, the better the variety of accessory..for example Iphone, N95, N73 (hot selling couple years back) Give it some time...E71 had the "wow" factor that can woo wider range of consumer (not just biz class people) This post has been edited by mikelanding: Jul 27 2008, 12:31 PM |

Well leather case is never an issue for me coz the case that was provided by nokia with this e71 was quite good for me. Kinda classic too i might add.

For me the function of e66 is almost the same as e71 accept that it is without qwerty keyboard and that it has an accelerometer. Fyi, the e series is a no nonsense handphone to those with biz needs. By the way, this is an e71 thread. Kinda ot a bit there.
