hi everyone..juz wanna ask sumthing..hope someone can help me..i already bought this gem and i do like it a lot..how ever, i cant use my 3G (im a maxis user). wifi is ok, 3G is activated and i can make a video call, but anything that uses packet data such as MMS and internet surfing is not ok. "connection not allowed" msg appear when trying to connect using Maxis 3G WAP.

I already called maxis 4 times and each time they will send me setting's sms. I also downloaded the phone setting myself, and as E71 setting still not on the maxis website, i tried almost all other Eseries settings. Still not working thou. Hope somebody here can help me. Thanxxx!!

For me, once i slotted the activated 3G simcard to E71, it automatically detect 3G, no further configuration or settings needed.

Maybe it takes some time for the 3G appear after you downloaded the setting.

The 3G already appear..but I cant use mms or web surfing (anything that uses packet data)

Have you try surfing the net with "Maxis 3G Internet" instead of WAP?

yup..same result

May be you have to call maxis centre again.

However, if you have time, try to slot your simcard to other 3G phones and try whether can hook up the net or not.

all s60 devices will automatically preset the telco's settings when you slot in your SIM card. u need not to configure anything cox it will do it automatically for you. (the same goes to communicator series 9300/9300i/9500)
suggest you go to maxis centre for assistance, if you hv tried using maxis 3g mms connection profile for MMS but still not able to use it.

thanx to both of u..i already figure out that something is not rite with my SIM..tried with my moms SIM, its a 3.5G fly high, no prob at all, no need to set anything..will go to maxis centre tomorrow..thanks again guys

It has got to do with some setting at your phone which relates to sim as well. Most of the 3rd edition FP1 has something that you need to deactivate in GPRS setting in order to access 3G internet. It's called APN control restriction.

Hmm..I found the setting u mentioned juz now..but it requires PIN2 code to deactivate it..where can i get the code?

If you are using Maxis/hotlink, it should be 0123 if I am not mistaken. DiGi/Celcom I am not sure.

juz try 0123, and its a code error..1234 maybe? anyone?

Hi guys, need some help here. 2-3 times a day i cant access menu by the right

shortcuts key & also the home icon key. This happens when i try to lock the phones.

The only way is to restart the phone. Is this firmware bugs or phones problems?

then second is taking the photo.
