hey guys... just wanna inform u guys bout the problem i faced with this phone....

at first my nokia maps GPS is working fine.... then i installed solitaire which is default in my phone....
suddenly the nokia maps GPS stopped working... it will load till about 30% then suddenly it stops the loading n an error msg pops out. it says to go to www.nokia.com/maps to update my application.
i did it a few times but still the same thing...
then i uninstalled the solitaire but the problem persist...
so i reset my phone using the "reset to factory setting" n still the same thing...
i gave up n sent it back to nokia service centre yesterday...
it says to pick it up today...

Also another problem alltogether, sometimes when i press the menu button, it still stays in the home screen...

quite a sad thing to happen to such a fine phone.... quite disappointing especially when it is an ori zitron set...

I can tell you but there's no point because I had these installation files from a year ago when I bought my N82. Even if you have the instructions and without the files, it's of no use to you.

If you google Symbian 60 Garmin Mobile XT installation guide or the like, you should find soemthing.

Zitron and Avaxx set are original and depending on where you're going in Msia, you can just buy from any phone shop as long as it's Zitron / Avaxx. I got mine 2 days ago for RM1600, so if the price is in range, just buy.

I personally disable the A-GPS. But of cos without the A-GPS support, to get signal it'll take around 5~10mins..
That's the sad part.. sad.gif

yes.. u can read and write in chinese..
unless you got the AP model then it depends on which country the phone comes from. If from Asian then should be alright. For original distributor, you should be alright..

I'm not too sure how to do it.. but you can always go back to the shop you purchase the phone and request them to reflash the firmware..

For installing firmware that support chinese on a non-Chinese Firmware, U need to do something call "unbranding"
This is the guide to unbranding a nokia phone :Nokia Unbranding guide

For Correct E71 product code, U can refer here: http://www.e71fanatics.com/2008/07/nokia-e...s-for-your.html
Zitron/Avexx here are using SINGAPORE product code mainly.

**DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!!**

I'm using a Singapore original set so mine has chinese input. Well, I found a method googling around.

Download and install: Nemesis Service Suite and the latest Nokia Software Update.

1.Connect your phone and wait for Windows to install the drivers.
2.Open Nemesis Service Suite and click “Scan for new device” on the right-upper part of the window
3.Click on the icon “Phone info”
4.Click on “Scan”
5.Change the product code to the one you want from the list below.
6.Mark the case “Enable”.
7.Press “Write”, and your phone’s product code will be changed (you might think that nothing happened, because the phone is still in normal mode, and the changing of the product code only takes a couple of seconds, but don’t worry, the product code changed !).
8.Close Nemesis Service Suite and run the Nokia Software Update.
9.Make sure not to touch the cable or the phone while your phone is updating or else you will break it!
10.That’s it! When you restart your phone, it should now be upgraded!

Singapore product code will be 0560654 as can be seen when u remove the battery.

U can get the Nemesis software here.
Nemesis Service Suite download

For the NSU, u have to get it from the SG nokia site.

Honestly, i think these will do if there's a new firmware out but for now i don't think any is available so u can still try but please, i am not liable man.

Thats why I get a singapore ori set, nearly same price as AP here so u save $$$, and also save the hassle of getting chinese input language firmware.

I think you can send the ring tones regardless if they are in the SD card or Phone memory. But the contact must be stored in the Phone memory and not extracting from the SIM.
