If Arsene Wenger best manager of all time, then Big Sam is as well.

Doesn't matter if the TS is a Wycombe Wanderers fan. If you are able to articulate your choice, people will listen. I personally picked Fergie months ago despite hating him. In discussions such as this, you have to put emotion aside.
Good call on Mourinho though. I overlooked the fact that he's had success almost everywhere he's gone. |

Jose Mourinho - Most of managers canbe successful at any club..if he given enough time..enough cash..but no one can be as special as him..as he made impact on any clubs he manage..if not 1st seasons at the club..we will get it in his 2nd seasons at the club to fulfill the club objectives..just pls dont mess with him..and let him decide in the contract and transfer issues...he will always be my 'Special One'.

Sir Alex Ferguson
no other manager in modern era that 1-mould a club to the way they are today(well there's arsene,so if he can win 10 moar BPL trophies and a couple of CL trophies i call it a given) 2-get more than a dozen of major trophies 3-produce a gerenation of successful manager(Mark Hughes,Steve Bruce,Roy Keane,Paul Ince,Ole Gunnar,Laurent Blanc, etc with the brighest would be Mark Hughes) 4-he introduce us the United's way of playing in term of tactics, despite being an old fart,he do deserve a point for 1-embracing tactical evolution(or revolution) in modern football, unlike the late Sir Bobby Robson 2-giving new player to shine, unlike Martin o neill 3-giving old guard to serve to their end, unlike Wenger 4-know what "defence" means unlike both Wenger and Moyes |

Mourinho. Just the treble he did for Inter is enough to back him up.

Best manager criteria is depends on how people judge it
I'm Arsenal supporter yes and maybe has biasness for me is AW..as a HUMAN point of view he can win trophies with small stadium, and winning double in the first full season. he can win double with small transfer kitty he tightly hold his principal to his football style even people criticize he engineered the move to 60k emirates from small stadium he has so much love towards arsenal |

i wonder if SAF coach inter milan for 2 season only..can he win a trophy??
so, my choice would be Mourinho.. Added on September 20, 2010, 7:53 pm QUOTE(jiidaineko @ Sep 20 2010, 11:51 AM) well for now, it has got to be Mourinho. +1Porto won UCL under him. Chelsea broke manu domination under him. Inter won treble under him. Now he is out to conquer Spain. SAF on the other hand has always stayed in his cozy little manu hut where else Mourinho proved that he can be successful anywhere, manage any group of players, rebuild any team (RM pending) some might argue that SAF has more trophies but do bear in mind that Mourinho only started managing 10 years ago This post has been edited by lok3i: Sep 20 2010, 07:53 PM |

I voted for Benitez just for the lulz.
As for success with Inter, winning the CL was great no doubt, but winning the other throphies there especially in Italy itself isn't worth shouting about. They are the dominant forces there with Milan getting old and not much money.., Juventus being horrendous since they had to recover from being relegated, and Roma being skint.. there's nobody there apart from Inter who had lots of money. And 06/07, Mourinho last moment.. in EPL before stepping down the early next season. Bought only Carrick that season to replace Keane and with Ruud already sold, SAF won the league. Mourinho is definitely one of the best though, alongside SAF, Hitzfield, Wenger, Lippi, Ancelotti, etc. They've proven with their throphies haul. |

well, i vote for carlo ancelotti..because he is the one who brought milan to 2 champions league trohphies plus one runner up (2005)..alex ferguson comes second for me..
but where is pep guardiola? i know that he is a new manager, but he won 6 trophies in a year (2009) la liga, copa del rey, champions league, european super cup, spanish super cup and club world cup (not some silly community shield or emirates cup) which no other team has done it ever before..i would say that he is the best manager since you said 'our time'.. jose mourinho? he was good at porto..but since that time, he became totally arrogant and snob..not the best manager.. |

QUOTE(Max_07s @ Sep 20 2010, 06:43 PM) Lippi and Vicente lol,, joke.1UCL and 1 WC with their country team. ferguson yes for the club. he should try bring scotland win WC. P/s: on guardiola, no offense but the team is already godlike itself. having messi, xavi, iniesta and eto'o in your team has already make ur job so much easier. nonetheless, still a great manager, perhaps one day will become one of the greatest, but for now still behind veterans like SAF, Lippi, Hiddink and hotshot mourinho , just my humble opinion This post has been edited by sheng: Sep 20 2010, 09:23 PM |
