QUOTE(mamedai @ Sep 18 2008, 09:02 PM) No, you can't tell a baby's sex just by looking at the mother's belly. You can guess but that just about it... QUOTE(beatlesalbum @ Sep 19 2008, 01:44 PM) ANgelina Jolie's kids may be in trouble then.... And wikipedia is not such a trustable source... always look at the discussion tab to see a lot of people rebuking and asking for changes. The risk of Down Syndrome is higher the older the woman is. In general, the quoted rate for Down syndrome overall is 1 out of every 700 live births..... at age 20 the risk is about 1 in 1500 pregnancyes, at age 35, the risk is about 1 in 350 and at age 40, it is about 1 in 100 (depending on what references you follow).Note that at age 40, the risk is about 1 in 100, i.e. 1%...... the 40-year-old woman still has a 99% chance of getting an unaffected child.... just that if you compare 1 in 700 to 1 in 100, definitely 1% it is significantly higher, relatively speaking... |

I need some advices here.
Me and my hubby are now above 30. Both of us did a test. I did a hormon test. The result shows that my ovary is not releasing the egg. So I need to go for a surgery. I'm really worry cos I have not been operate before...very very scare! As for my hubby, he did a semen analysis and the result is not good either. Maybe 1st time doing it in the clinic...it could be stress. The result shows very LOW volume, LOW no. of sperm and LOW motility. He will definitely go for another round of test. I ask my gynae if there is anything he can do? Gynae said there is none. Maybe my gynae is not good enough. Perhaps if there is any gynae here could give us some advices. |

What surgery are you going to have? It could be that the doctor will be performing a key-hole surgery (laparoscopy) + tubal patency test (to see whether your fallopian tubes are patent or not). There is another alternative to this, which is HSG (hysterosalphingography) which doesn't involve surgery. Between these two options, the doctor usually will advise you on the best option based on your overall problem. For abnormal semen results, another test is needed to make sure that the results are accurate.... In general, there are not many medical options available to improve sperm count unless there is a definite cause for the abnormality. Things your husband can do that MAY improve the counts are: 1) Stop smoking or drinking alcohol 2) Avoid hot baths + Wear loose underwear (sperm production is better at temperature below normal body temperature) 3) Lead a healthy lifesytle + ensure good control of any medical illness 4) Reduce stress You should not avoid sexual intercourse just because you want to "save" up the sperm as that won't help. 2-3x a week is not excessive This post has been edited by kmarc: Sep 26 2008, 10:31 AM |

QUOTE(cutie1225 @ Sep 28 2008, 09:32 PM) i wan to ask if having sex second day of period finished.. It depends on the regularity of the menstrual cycle and the duration of each cycle. If you have menses for 4-5 days, then it should be ok.then if doesnt do anything pencegahan wil it be pregnant? when wil the pregnant sympthon start can be feel? However, it is not that straightforward. Google up Fertility awareness method (FAM) or "safe period" to understand your safe period. Here's an example : http://www.fwhc.org/birth-control/fam.htm Regarding the symptoms, it usually starts around 4-6 weeks after your last menses. However, this can vary greatly between each women. Some might get it much earlier, some later and some women still deny they are pregnant even though the ultrasound scan shows a 30 weeks fetus!!!! |

Just wait for your next period, if come or no come, jsut go phamacy get the pregnant test...Dont play guessing....simple as it is... |

QUOTE(Zxuan @ Oct 8 2008, 11:29 PM) i wan to ask are ther anyway for us to test either we r pregnant o not? Besides urine pregnancy test (UPT), the earliest test you can do is to take your blood to check for "serum beta-hCG". This test can detect pregnancy much earlier compared to UPT.if yes,how many ways are that? can state clearly? and are ther anyway ( like surgery) to abandon the embryo ,i means in the earliest period when we found we had pregnant? sum1 can help me here? i need the information urgently Errrm..... induced abortion is illegal in Malaysia unless you have a specific medical reason for the abortion. However, private doctors do perform it though (in secret..... This post has been edited by kmarc: Oct 9 2008, 07:31 AM |

QUOTE(Zxuan @ Oct 8 2008, 11:29 PM) i wan to ask are ther anyway for us to test either we r pregnant o not? first you have to be very aware of your body changes.if yes,how many ways are that? can state clearly? and are ther anyway ( like surgery) to abandon the embryo ,i means in the earliest period when we found we had pregnant? sum1 can help me here? i need the information urgently Actually our body tells alot on our condition if you are sensitive enough. firstly, you would realize your body are especially heated than usual or normal, and you are not having fever. Then you can test your own heart beats. Pregnant woman's heartbeats 10 times more than a normal person... which means, your friend who is not pregnant getting about 69- 70's heartbeat counts, and yours would have reached 80's counts. Aside from that, you would feel dizzy if you tried to do some hard stuffs carrying, standing bending.... an easy chore that you can do any other days without feeling anything. All these are telling tales if you are aware enough. That you don't have to wait until your missed period to tell you. Then you can head on to pharmacy to get those pregnancy test kit. There are alot of good testing kits which can tell result without waiting for the period to come. For those womans who are very afraid to get pregnant, what they normally did is... they ate pineapple alot before the period due date. |

no, I can't. Not a problem for me to have a baby girl or baby boy. It is 100% naturally after my fibroid removal operation. You have your child? or you plan to?
