I need some advices here.

Me and my hubby are now above 30. Both of us did a test. I did a hormon test. The result shows that my ovary is not releasing the egg. So I need to go for a surgery. I'm really worry cos I have not been operate before...very very scare! sweat.gif

As for my hubby, he did a semen analysis and the result is not good either. Maybe 1st time doing it in the clinic...it could be stress. The result shows very LOW volume, LOW no. of sperm and LOW motility. He will definitely go for another round of test.

I ask my gynae if there is anything he can do? Gynae said there is none. Maybe my gynae is not good enough. Perhaps if there is any gynae here could give us some advices.

Firstly, which doctor did you consult?

If your ovaries are not releasing an egg every month, it means you are not ovulating. What surgery are you going to have? It could be that the doctor will be performing a key-hole surgery (laparoscopy) + tubal patency test (to see whether your fallopian tubes are patent or not). There is another alternative to this, which is HSG (hysterosalphingography) which doesn't involve surgery. Between these two options, the doctor usually will advise you on the best option based on your overall problem.

For abnormal semen results, another test is needed to make sure that the results are accurate.... In general, there are not many medical options available to improve sperm count unless there is a definite cause for the abnormality. Things your husband can do that MAY improve the counts are:
1) Stop smoking or drinking alcohol
2) Avoid hot baths + Wear loose underwear (sperm production is better at temperature below normal body temperature)
3) Lead a healthy lifesytle + ensure good control of any medical illness
4) Reduce stress

You should not avoid sexual intercourse just because you want to "save" up the sperm as that won't help. 2-3x a week is not excessive wink.gif. Anyway, the best thing now is to wait for the 2nd semen analysis. In a lot of cases, the 2nd test may show good sperm count.... smile.gif

The doctor's name I think I better PM to you.
Yes, I am going for Laparoscopy and tubal patency. My hubby don't smoke nor drink. The only thing I can think of is hot bath and too stressful on PC games & facebk vmad.gif . He also took Prop?cia sometime ago for hairdrop problem. He has stopped for almost 6mths. I am not sure if that caused the problem.

Anyway, thanks for your advices.
