Even if Maybank goes to RM4, it will still bounce back one day if its business is intact, as proven from its history.
So I am confident and am ready to keep averaging down on Maybank if the price does go down. Just have to hold and receive the dividends my whole life smile.gif

Not the same problems. DB never really managed to recover from the Global Financial Crisis. Then it invested too much into Investment Banking and suffered greatly. US Fed Reserve had to bail them out! They would have been bankrupt then already.

After that, it was the zero-negative interest rates of Europe which makes it hard on their margins. So it continued decline.

I don't see the same scenario for Maybank.. But of course always be watchful.

personally I have some bias opinion towards Maybank..

if Maybank were to go like Deutsche bank.. then ASB gg then.. because it's the largest holding are into Maybank & many financial stocks..

before anything actually happens.. Our beloved government would "bailout" first..

bailout? they'd just print money and we'd experience hyperinflation ....

hopefully that will never happen. As long as Bank Negara and SC are clean and do their job, our financial industry should be in the clear.

Yeah, time for Maybank to test 8.40-8.45 level again. Hopefully this time can secure more units. Need to reduce my average cost further down. Still at 9.08 right now rclxub.gif

Good luck if can hit 8.40.

3Q results is pretty decent, better than 2Q which itself was better than that bad 1Q. I'm expecting an even better 4Q.

Compared to 2018, earnings have dropped, by about 2.8%. But stock price has dropped even more, 10+%. Buy.. 😆

While I'm a Maybank investor, I have to say I disagree with this basis of investing in Maybank.

Until market see rate cut prospect is diminishing, banks share generally are under pressure across.

Rate cut - NIM at risk to be lower.

With loan growth expected to be at low side, earning improvement won't be significant.
Those with good quality loan asset, the better side of story is single digit earning improvement.
While risk is NPL rise eat into earning or reduction in NIM that reduce the earning.

ABMB is the classic example what market is worrying on banking stocks, big rise in NPL or provision for NPL, that affect earning result.

with ASB only 5.5%, then I guess MBB stock should be very appealing now!
