as long as the dividend yield plus capital gain are better than amanah saham around 10%, then I'm happy.

Since Khazanah & Amanah saham are trying to diversify their portfolio, if they sell half of their ownership, will the price go down substantially?

QUOTE(Cubalagi @ Aug 30 2019, 09:44 PM) If it's still below ur average price and u still have room for it in ur portfolio.. why not? another rate cut? On interest rate, it depends on the economy and for us most important is BNM rate. I think BNM will stay put next month. https://www.theedgemarkets.com/article/bank...ut-opr-year-end |

QUOTE(Cubalagi @ Sep 1 2019, 03:42 PM) My view: no rate cut in September by BNM, but possible rate cut in November depending on US Fed. If Fed is very aggressive with a 50 bps cut or more, then BNM will be under pressure to cut rate. hopefully ... MYR has stayed cheap for too long. I'm expecting MYR to rebound this month (no rate cut by BNM n cut by Fed will do that).. |

QUOTE(Cubalagi @ Sep 12 2019, 03:51 PM) Maybank momentum looking nice. ECB has reduced... so Fed will follow? then MY will also follow?BNM MPC meeting just now, no change to OPR, as I expected. The next and last BNM meeting this year will be on 5th Nov. BNM is data dependant. There could be a chance of a cut then. Have to wait n see ECB (today) n Fed next week as well.. |

QUOTE(Cubalagi @ Sep 13 2019, 01:30 AM) Likely Fed will cut rate next week too and likely its 0.25%. If they don't, then US market will go into correction as it expects a cut. And Donald Trump will go full mental. Trump wants them to cut by a whole 1%. as you predicted, likely fed cut ...As for BNM, that's 2 months away. Under current market conditions, 2 months is a long time. Anything can happen. Anyway, my 2 sen is that IF the Malaysian economy remains stable and IF the trade war doesn't escalate n IF Fed cuts by "only" 0.25%, then there is a good chance BNM will stay put n reserve its ammo for later. Lots of Ifs there.. 😆 And even if there is another BNM cut In Nov, Maybank impact will not be that great on Maybank's earnings for this year. https://www.theedgemarkets.com/article/divi...-week-then-what |

QUOTE(Jordy @ Oct 3 2019, 11:17 AM) Dividend and valuation wise, Maybank. eh, I thought PBB had operations outside M'sia, like HK?Public Bank for stability over the next 40 years (depending on the succession planning which is still being kept a secret). I would still go for Maybank as the it has scaled over ASEAN, so potential of growth is still there. Growth for Public Bank is limited to the local market (which is dead), unless the new successor plans to expand to regional markets. Then it will open up a whole new market for Public Bank. |
