guys i plan to get a phat one but how do i know if its a BRAND NEW phat one and not a rebought refurbished one? are they any signs codes or markings i should be awake of?

my current offer is RM 500 4gb and silicon casing blablabla protection no UMD's she claims its new so yeah

hmm no offence but y are psp phat still so popular when psp3000 is abt to hit the market? budget-wise, the psp3000 is easily available on ebay for around USD199(u do the math) when it is lauched. jz my 2cents..

i personally like the durability of the phat and the grip feel whereas the slims feel to flimsy to me......and the phat has more batt time...althought it loads slower..i dont mind the extra 15 secs

PSP slim n lite is also called PSP 2000 series ( 2000:US version ; 2006:JP version)..both are the same thou..only difference in the box

PSP phat is also known as PSP1000

the new one that will be release middle of Oct is PSP3000..but cannot be modded to custom firmware to play DL game.

definitely refurbished. the casing alone is around RM150. i dont think anyone wanna sell new psp for 600 complete with 4gig mem stick now. maybe a few months back got.

how do i differentiate whether it is a refurbish set or original? the guy shows me too the box that come together with the PSP.....the serial number is the same as it is stated on the box. BTW it is a US set.

Huh? I think he meant the crystal case, not the psp casing. If crystal casing then RM750 is quite reasonable.

a refurbished set is just a used set re-cleaned or repaired to make it look like new. there's no such thing as fake psp or not original ones.
unless they are RM30 and sold at the grocery stores.
and, a US set? what version is it?. 2001 or 2006?

No, it is really transparent faceplate, original is black faceplate, then they make 1 transparent just to see how it looks like...then the boss sell it just for promotion.

u better reconsider normally new PSP doesnt come with transparent case. U can visit sony web site for PSP color. Unless the PSP box is seal then lain cerita la

ya...i know....the original colour is black.....but the boss change it to transparent casing for display...but plan to sell it off too.....he oso will provide me the original black casing just in case i wanna change back.....

from wat i see...wat he's tryingto say is the 'transparent seal' for the US version PSP...tat one then probably original la...since the batt and adaptor is inside the seal...but cannot guarantee it's not a recon console..caz rm750 is slightly too cheap,unless it's some old stock...now all new stock are goin at around rm780...

then how to differentiate it is a new or refurbish set?
