Last time SF TOY is arround RM3700, why now price hike to RM5500?
Now even got discount also cost like previous non-discount price. Still worth to buy TOY?
*
well. worth or not. i not sure. how much they wanna sell oso i can't control.
i just manage to talk it over with some guy in perfect hifi and they supply me with old price for the bulk buy.
so i believe. in either way oso. the buyer within the bulk order won't loss. it's still the old price.

by the way. previous price before hifi show was RM 3999. i asked price for 3-4 times seriously. and i never get RM 3.7K leh... cheapest i can get ever is 3.8K
about worth or not. i seriously don't know what you mean by that.
if u are talking either the price justify the performance or not.. then that one u should make up ur mind.
imho that TOY is anytime better than a lot of bookshelve out there which is obviously higher price. that's me..
if u are talking about the price.. if u can't get any cheaper price out there with official warrenty. then i think the price offered by perfect hifi is reasonable.

that's why i am saying. forget about last time price how much.. last time cheapest u can get RM 3.7K nett. now can get RM 3.8K nett..

if u serious about toy price. can directly place order in bulk. with non refundable deposit of RM 1000.

the deal of the TOY will make at Perfect hifi shop by arranged time.
i don't see what is the point of going out there to buy.
u get from same seller, same warrenty, reduced price. yet you still shouting that TOY is expensive.. not worth.. it's RM 5K+..
while there's one offer here to join the bulk and get RM 3.8K, from perfect hifi. through me.

Hi all,

IMO, it's wise to open another thread in appropriate section to discuss commercial, trading related issues. I believe the intent of this thread by TS is to discuss experience, opinion related to Sonus Faber. Thanks for reading.

well. i am not doing it over for profit.
i am just conducting a bulk for the sake of getting lower price.
where shall i put the post?
WTS? WTBulk?
it's not even trading / commercial.

even in sennheiser thread. there's always ppl asking for price.
what does it goes wrong with that? and what's wrong if someone asked for price of TOY over sonus faber thread? just for sake of experience? lol

well. nope i am out of it. i get nothings. yet i need to spend my time to answer ppl as if i earn a profit. lol. forget about it.
seems that my contribution of getting it at a bulk price is not so needed. so why i must offer my help?...
and it doesn't seems to have serious buyer for that over here either.
i will just proceed with what ever order i have and settle it.

TOy with Krell is the best match.
*
QUOTE(InF.anime @ Sep 30 2009, 05:55 PM)
Krell is often used by Sonus Faber at their factory when they design their speakers. Sonus faber's founder, Franco Serblin and Krell's founder, Dan D'Agostino, are great friends, hence the synergy.

Sonus Faber Stradivaris were also designed using Krell power amps.
*
i seriously doubt about that. because the TOY is currently at my place ever since theng had purchased it. theng will only pick it up when he finally got his integrated amp.
Toy comes with a LARGER ring radiated tweeter (25mm) as compared to previous concertino (19mm), and TOY comes with SMALLER mid bass driver (130mm) as compared to concertino 150mm.
krell is often used by OLD sonus faber, i can agree with that. but not the new one. because old sonus were mostly power hunger. while newer batch of sonus, no longer has thins kind of characteristic. i even driven my Concertino Domus with NAD 3020A intergrated amp (rated 25watt) and i don't quite feel it sound bad.
of course. upgrade in amp does improve the sound. but the improvement no longer as drastic as older sonus faber such as concertino home / concerto home.

so by pushing old sonus faber hard with big power amp the speaker can really help by pump out the bass amount that is surpassingly huge for the size of the speaker. due to the laid back natural of the sonus faber speaker. the sonus faber really producing amazing staging. and MOST of the sonus faber older version were running at average of 4ohm across whole frequency spectrum.

however, on my personal experience, TOY, which is rated as 8ohm average... doesn't require big power monster to push it.. (the speaker is relatively small, only slightly bigger than ProAc Tabellett). and i seriously doubt that this kind of small bookshelf can benefits from monster power amp.

IMHO. TOY best matches with warm sounding amp. to emphasize on a more balance tonal balance. Tube amp is HIGHLY recommended.

ever since the Audio research has bought over by sonus faber mother company. they are basically sister company. and more often they are using Audio research amp as reference now.

i had just recently acquired my third set of harmonix 909 MKI. =P

today just audit the LUITO MONITOR.
and seriously. it's one hell of superb impressive speaker.
very very transparent sound, very fast speed. very nice bass..
as i test it side by side comparison with a grand piano home (older floorstander). and the floorstander is A LOT worst than the bookshelve itself.. very very impressive.just the sound is slightly tight due to lack of run in. the luito is just on for less than 20 hours.
setup:
source - Audio analoge Paganini
Amp - Audio Analoge Verdi Gento
Cable - Nordost dunno what cable + Transparent dunno what speaker cable. but doesn't seems to be "beautiful" priced item.
and some harmonix tweaks around the room and the setup..

PcWork, did you catch the price tag for the Liuto Monitor?
*
it's about RM 13K or slightly more, including original stand. without stand. minus about RM 2K i think.

QUOTE(kkthen @ Oct 30 2009, 11:33 AM)
Wah third set harmonix 909 MKI!!  sweat.gif  Where is your third set harmonix 909 MKI location, for cd player , for amp or rack?

LUITO MONITOR is so good drool.gif !! Last time I audit the toy in av show also feel very impressive.
*
TOY is no where can match the luito. even TOY Tower also pawned badly by the bass of the luito monitor.
the luito monitor has both speed, attack, transparencies, and WEIGHT of the sound.
the deeper part of the bass, is very well pronounced.
to my ear.
the bass of TOY VS concertino is as if concertino VS Luito.lol
the amount is can't comparable. treble energy oso very much superior compared to concertino..
Toy tower was selling for about RM11K-12K. but the luito is obviously more ex than it. RM 13K is price after discount. lol.

regarding the third set of 909 MKI. i was intended to put it for amp. but when i took it home. i found out that it gives more improvement when i place it for my RACK.
so now it's sit under my rack. amp sits on XINDAK graphite / ceramic cone.
while CDP sits on the top of the rack which has one whole pieces of MARBLE. without any cone. previously i use black diamond racing MK4 cone for it. but i found it's not quite suitable once i put harmonix 909 on the rack. so i remove the BDR MK4 cone away.

I just audition toy today, against Opera Mezzo and KEF iQ70. I tried both Toy towers and monitor, and Toy win hands down. Toy towers do a slight better than the monitor.  Might be taking home the Toy Tower, but wanna ask something first.

There is a Concertino Domus Tower, and comparing both Domus and Toy, in all of your opinion, which is better?

Anyone know how much can I get Domus Tower at? If it is cheaper than Toy Tower, I might as well get the Domus.

Please advice
*
there is a concertino Domus tower. called "CONCERTO DOMUS" or slightly advance model "Grand Piano Domus"

but imho. in term of overall quality. toy tower does have better sound quality. and more balance tonality.
however, both domus has better outlook than the toy tower. and both domus is MORE EXPENSIVE than toy tower. toy tower is sort of they only concentrate on the SOUND, rather than esthetic value. lol.

there's a ready stock of both concerto domus and grand piano domus AND toy tower at MPL wisma.
i might visit there by tuesday or wednesday depend on my available time. i need to visit lock smith besides the hifi shop. lol.

if u wanna drop by together. do beep me a msg.

does the price comes with full warrenty? 3 year full warrenty?
because i called perfect hifi, as they are distributor and yet their selling price is higher than that. so i worry that the toy tower doesn't cover warrenty for the price. which shop is selling that cheap? u got contact number or not? are they dealer of sonus faber?

After visit Pcwork, I am poisoned by Harmonix 909 base. Sound Quality of Pcwork system is very good. No wonder many people want to buy sonus faber after visit Pcwork.

haih... i want the 56... u know what i am talking about dude..
cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif

by the way. bro. i had stick back the velvet under 909 base. because i think it has better tonality balance.
no doubt removing the velvet has wider sound. much much more detial. but seems to have a bit bass shy,.and my room not really allow me to have flexible speaker positioning. so i am sticking it back for the mean time. =P
