They have contractual 1.5 months bonus a year.
1 month in Dec and 0.5 in June.

Then you have Employee Bonus and Employee Cash Bonus Planx2. These 2 are variable.

ECBP is based on Intel's profit margin for each half of the year.

EB is based on your grade level as well as your salary and performance.

Both these bonuses are complicated to calculate.

EB becomes attractive once you reach a higher grade level.

interesting, in conclusion intel will give at least 1.5month bonus plus 2 variable bonus. this is very good benefit indeed.

Depends on the interviewer, really. Intel is a huge company with many different groups.

If this is your first interview, then expect some basic technical questions to filter you out. If you've already gone through the technical interview, then it could be a behavioral one to see if you fit into the group.

The downside is that the basic salary isn't as good as other MNCs, generally. So at the end of the day, one could be getting more or less the same as their friends working in other MNCs who pay out less bonus. Overall I think the total compensation (salary + bonus + stocks) is still competetive.

What are your friends doing? I thought Intel is probably the top in terms of total compensation in Penang area, especially for people doing IC design.

You called out an excellent point. The design group no doubt is enjoying a higer pay since it's not so easy to get experienced design engineers. I was referring to the general population that I was part of for many years.

Intel interview was the hardest interview i went. last time they had a walk-in interview at MMU for post grad scholarship. so thought of just trying my luck. kena goreng like hell by design manager Mr Chua if not mistaken.
He asked a lot of technical questions on electronic designs until you can't answer him back. i asked him to google lolz

that was the last time i went for an interview unprepared lolz

If you can justify this to your manager, then yes.

But mostly manager will ask why does a GT need internet access at home?
