Here are some Twitter reactions on AVATAR:

@petershall: “The AVATAR buzz is an understatement. That movie was unbelievable.”

@chasewhale: “Just finished AVATAR. Special effects were top notch. The movie ran a little long for my likings but I liked it!”

@comingsoonnet” “Okay, about Avatar?…. WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW! Unbelievable… amazing.”

@MikePereira21: Was blown away by Avatar! For 150 minutes, I was a kid again. Thank you James Cameron! BTW, the groundbreaking 3D was mindblowing.”

@rejects: “I’m not supposed to talk about Avatar… That said, it was a spectacular experience. Like nothing I’ve seen before.”

@markwalters74: “Just saw AVATAR. Not allowed to talk about it yet. Not allowed to say how it’s an amazing visual feast, or that Jimmy C’s still got the gift.”

@dmann11: “Holy effing crap!!! Avatar was FREAKING AWESOME KICK ASS SWEET!!!!!”

@TheGate: “For the record ‘Avatar’ was worth the $400 million, and no it is not even remotely “vomit inducing”.

If early reviews have majority positive, then the movie will end up with more than 75% approval... which is fresh. In my opinion, this movie could be the in the 90%+ approval

Come on... AVATAR is not just a movie, it is a labor of love for the past, oh... i dunno, 10 years?

I believe the first reactions to Transformers were similar, so there you go. Although it has to be said, Cameron's left nipple itself has more talent than the whole of Bay when it comes to action movies. I'm feeling optimistic, all I want is a slam-bang smashing action extravaganza. As long as the storyline and writing is above average, I'm okay with it.

I think you are being extremely harsh. Berardinelli already gave the film glowing comments. and Ebert gave it four out of four.

The Envelope just predicted Avatar to knock Up in the Air off its perch for the race to Best Picture!

Added on December 12, 2009, 11:52 amADD: Michael Phillips gave it a thumbs up.

So far it's 4/4 among my favorite critics. Ansen is the only one without a comment. Prick!

I liked Ebert's review the most because I share the same belief regarding 3D as him about the screen dimming down but he just gave this a thumbs up regarding the 3D effects. Good news.

thats what i thought at first but i dont think so.
the human actors were real coz the details on the hair from trailers look natural. that said, i think they just glossed it over to make it look glossy a bit so it gels with the cgi of the navi.
2hrs and 45 mins is worth to shell out the extra to watch it in 3d.

I cant see Bernardinelli's review. But the current crop of reviews at RT is getting to me. biggrin.gif

Blend of live-action and CGI, mostly CGI I think. When I first saw Sigourney and Michelles Rodriguez I didn't know the movie was part live-action. I thought photorealism had been achieved then.

Btw, where is the best place to catch this in 3D? Is the IMAX screen in BTS showing it in 3D? (I know it's not under IMAX anymore)
I think Pavilion has the best GSC screens. Might watch it there.

Bernardinelli twittered his review. He was not allowed to post a review on his website until release day but he said he would twitter about it and he hinted that it will be FOUR stars and in his top 10 list of 09.

The last movie I watched in IMAX 3D was "The Polar Express" at Berjaya Times Square. Apparently there is no more IMAX there. Where are the other IMAX cinema locations ?

Undoubtedly watching Avatar in 3D, but IMAX 3D is said to be the best... hmm...
